Hi Helen - tell Dr P you are a member of TPA and you are a

friend of Sheila's and I had told you that he would definitely be the one to

look after you. Gentle strokes…..! BTW we don't mention doctors names on

the forum, so use their initials only, but if there are many doctors of that

initial, you can also give their first name initial too. When are you due to

see him. I am actually seeing him again on 4th May.

Had an awful experience today. I went to the hospital to get my

usual blood draw for my thyroid function tests taken from inside of my elbow.

When the needle went in, I felt excruciating pain and my thumb and index finger

went into severe spasm and for a few seconds, completely locked. My hand and

arm tingled all over and it was quite frightening. Apparently she had struck a

nerve (never happened to me before and I don't ever want it to happen again).

She apologised and said they had no way of seeing nerves LOL. I was frightened

it might have affected the use of my hand, but after about 10 minutes, the

normal feeling returned again, but I have quite an awful swelling on the inside

of my elbow tonight and it is not a pretty colour. Sorry if this has put

anybody off from having their blood drawn, but this was quite out of the blue.

Everything OK now and as you can see, am happily typing again.

has anybody else ever experienced this?

Luv - Sheila
