Hi Emma - I am delighted that you appear to have found a doctor

who is prepared to listen to you and to increase your dose. Even with 50 mcgs,

this is still a very low dose - the average dose I 125 to 150 with some people

needing much more. Anyway, good luck, and you could well find a difference once

you start the Selenium.

So, all in all, quite positive, may still

result in me having to see an endo eventually but we shall see. He even had the

sense to see that i know the difference between being depressed or not(i have

had plenty of experience!) I have also been and got some selenium from the

herbalists to see if that helps. If only this had happened 2-3 years ago. I did

tell him about the other dr and he said thyroid treatments are very

controversial and we have to be able to legally justify the prescribing.......

apparently he found it justifiable when the other didn't even want to listen to

my symptoms.

I wanted to thank everyone for their advice and have made notes on what tests

etc to ask for if this increase in dose doesn't work.
