Guest guest
I have forwarded the following message from Seemtab as I think he sent it to me by mistake. Seemtab is a new member who has just joined us today, so a big welcome Seemtab and I hope you get the support and help you need. Luv - Sheila From: S. Ahmed [mailto:ahmed_knp@...] Sent: 22 October 2009 11:48 sheila@... Subject: Please Help !!! Hello Sheila, I was browsing the internet when (thankfully!) I found your website... I have been suffering from very weird kind of symptoms since the last 3 years, and my GP hasn't been able to establish the cause of my problems..and says " its stress! " although I had been put to various blood tests, endoscopy etc in the past (2-3 yrs) but nothing concrete came out for them to start a treatment... Strangely enough my blood cholestrol was " 2 " in year 2007, and this year in june-09 i was tested for cholestrol again and it was " 4.5 " ...when my lifestyle hasn't changed at all, specially the eating has gone healthier !!! but being a 40 yr old male, i've begining to feel like a 60 yr old, because of my tiredness.. The reason for doing my blood test (june-09) was that I suddenly fainted (or nearly fainted), with lot of sweating, dizziness, palpitations etc...and the GP got my blood tests done, and ECG done - where they found that my heart-beat pattern was not rhythmic..and since then i have been tested and tested by cardiologists - ECG, Stress-test, and now waiting for an appointment for angiography.. Deep down in me..(i do not know WHY), I have this feeling that I have something wrong with either my thyroids or adrenals...I have checked your symptom list and about 90% of my symptoms are present...and these symptoms are there since last 3 yrs...although these TFT tests had been done - but nothing came out... What do I do...I know I do not have a family history of heart problems, and do not smoke also...if there is anything wrong - its got to be because of " untreated thyroid " condition... but i am not a doctor - and can't prove this! Can you or your organisation help me somehow..? thanks in advance, kindest regards seemtab No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
Hi Seemtab, welcome to the forum,The rise in cholesterol is interesting as cholesterol levels used to be one of the diagnostic criteria when diagnosing thyroid disease, but now all many docs seem to do is look at the TSH test, which can be misleading. Have a good read in the files section as there is much information there. Other deficiencies and conditions can also produce similar symptoms such as: low ferritin levels( Iron deficency) low zinc, vitamin D3, candida ( yeast overgrowth) all need to be looked at first and rules out.thyroid treatment From: sheila@...Date: Thu, 22 Oct 2009 15:53:22 +0100Subject: Please Help !!! Guest guest
Hi Seemtab, Welcome to the forum. Just be aware that none of us on the forum are doctors either, so you will need to check things with your own doctors and/or specialists to make sure that any suggestions are suitable for you and your body. It is worthwhile waiting for the results of your angiogram. I wouldn't mess around when it comes to your heart, especially since you don't have all of your tests completed yet. I say that because members of my family have suffered from heart related illness and they had to be very careful about the types of medications and supplements that they took. Everything was done under doctors supervision. For example, a cardiac nurse told me that Magnesium is used as a proper medicine in cardiac wards. Even though you've had various cardiac tests, it will be the angiogram that will show whether there is any thickening of the arteries of your heart. Someone I know felt much less energetic and tired than he used to and couldn't work out why. He had led a healthy, extremely active life and couldn't understand why he would suffer from heart problems. All of his other cardiac tests came back ok, but the angiogram showed up a thickening in the arteries of his heart. In his case, he needed an operation, but he feels great now and is much more active than he was pre-op. So please, pursue the cardiac line of investigation before you look into anything else. Chat to your doctors about the possibility of thyroid related illness and see if they are willing to test you again, for your peace of mind. A lot of the symptoms my mum had were to do with her heart, but I can see they are very similar to the symptoms that I have as a thyroid sufferer. I wish you all the best with the angiography procedure. Please let us know how it goes. P > > I was browsing the internet when (thankfully!)
