Guest guest
You're welcome Red C. I hope the information was helpful. If levothyroxine alone is not working for you, then you need to find the reason why. There are many conditions associated with being hypothyroid that stop the mainly inactive thyroid hormone T4 from converting to the active thyroid hormone T3. it is T3 that every single cell in your body and brain needs to make them function. Go to our web site www.tpa-uk.org.uk and click on 'Hypothyroidism' and then click on 'Associated Conditions' in the drop down Menu and read everything on the page that opens. The main culprits are low adrenal reserve, systemic candidiasis and mercury poisoning caused through amalgam fillings. Then, there are low minerals and low vitamin in your body that stop the conversion so the active thyroid hormone can't get into the cells. Ask your doctor to test your levels of ferritin, vitamin B12, vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc. If any of these are low in the range, you would need to supplement to build your levels up. Don't EVER let your doctor tell you that your results are 'normal' and therefore you don't have a problem. You need to get the numbers for each test from your doctor, together with the reference range for each of the tests and post them here. Your ferritin level needs to be between 70 and 90 for you to feel good and your B12 particularly needs to be towards the top of the reference range. And yes, Dr P will certainly be able to help you get your life back. Meanwhile, just read, read and read again, and if there is anything you don't understand, just shout and somebody will be along to help you. Luv - Sheila Just picked up the replies on this thread. I just wanted to say " Thankyou " to Sheila and all of you - the fact that some of you lost weight when the meds were right gives me some hope that Dr P may be able to help me get my life back Red C No virus found in this incoming message.
