Vitamin B

I'm a bit confused about taking the individual B vitamins e.g. B1, B2, B5 etc. rather than taking a good vitamin B that was high in the whole range of Bs.   I thought they needed to be taken in certain ratios to each other or taking too much of one or two of them could result in a deficiency of some of the other Bs?

Could someone please explain to me if there is a problem with taking some of the Bs without supplementing all of them.Thanks,
