I just read on a post that

1)high doses of iodine lower estrogen levels

2) that results of an iodine test may show an " iodine absorption defect " a

defect in the Sodium Iodide Transporter.

The advice for the second problem " is to " follow your doctor's iodine dosing

carefully "

I am getting a little nervous,as I am doing a very high(now at 250mg)protocol

for cancer, on my own. I already have osteoporosis, certainly can't afford lower

estrogen, and am concerned that my iodine will be ineffective if I am defective

in the NIS(transporter)

These seem like VERY important issues to have a handle on so that I actually get

at that cancer, while also maintaining reproductive/hormonal health.

My PT is concerned that Candida/fungal infections are hampering my absorption of

all nutrients. Wondering if I handle that first?

Meeting with a new doc Friday to try and get her on board with iodine protocol

and loading test.Need to know how to find out about this absorption defect for

when I take the test, and to help her interpret.

Again THANK YOU EVERYONE, especially Steph, for your knowledge.
