Mel,

Yeah, I'll go buy some of that Milk thistle.

I've had a toe infected with fungus for years, so I'm starting to

treat it. It might be related to why they like me. It would be cool

if the person posted more about fungal cleanses. I read somewhere

that rats can carry up to 18 species of fungus, one of them

ringworm. Maybe the mites are somehow involved with the fungus in

rat and bird nests and when they attack us, they infect us with the

fungus or feed on fungus that's on us.

Howdy . The acronyms always throw me off at first, especially in the

morning. I used the leaves of MT only, as I'm not growing this yet but plan to.

I've not found this tea to have much flavor in normal use, even with the double

bag. My herbal mentor used to say that if you can't taste it, you probably

don't need it.

The tangy KT overcame the MT flavors completely to me. From fooling around with

other herbs though, I'd suggest using a little yerba or other leaf with it.

MT brews in normal fashion and good time, unlike nettles which took us a week

longer.

I'd strongly suspect it to keep the medicinal qualities, but I'm not the best

judge for this particular herb. Using MT seeds sounds like a good idea. The

Herbal PDR only lists the seeds as medicinal.

Have a great day, Mr.!

The sylimarin(not spelled correctly, I'm sure) in milk thistle seems to prevent

absorbtion of the glucuronic acid in Kombucha, the same as it does alchohol. For

this reason I do not take them at the same time, personally. Highly recommend

the book " Herbal Defense " by Robyn Landis, Ed

Only top secret government Kombucha archivists and people with personal

experience. If you're planning to use an herb for other than tonic and taste

purposes, it's a good idea to start off using it alone for a couple of weeks.

Then you'll be better able to spot a difference in effect when using it with a

medium like KT.

That's a good advice. Thanks Micah. I do believe, though, that there is great

potential for lots of discovery and benefit; combining healing herbs/supplements

with Kombucha.

When you Google it, it seemse to be printed with the " I " & " Y " in both positions

In the title here

http://www.phytochemicals.info/phytochemicals/silymarin.php

and on bottom of page 1 here

http://www.herbalsafety.utep.edu/herbs-pdfs/milkthistle.pdf

though when you look at the Latin name " I " 1st then " Y " seems to be right.

PERSONALLY I'd complain at being called a Silly Bum!

DON'T answer that!!!

I read in an email in this group that taking milk thistle is a good idea for liver support, but I just read on another site that it can mimic estrogen. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks,Kim
