ascorbic acid also decolorize lugol's solution (I think most acids do also) but Dr iodine is not the same formula as lugol's, if i recall correctly I think it is soduim iodide.

Re: success story

,I think Dr s site calls it white iodine but I bought "De La Cruz - Decolorized Iodine - Yodo Blanco". Ingredients: potassium iodide, iodine, ammonia solution. It is strictly for external use. The ammonia decolorizes the Lugol's solution.> >Hi Everybody,> >> >I have not posted for a long time and just want you all to know that after > >a year and more than a half on the iodine protocol, my nodule on my > >thyroid has finally reduced in size! Sylviane,

ascorbic acid also

decolorize lugol's solution (I think most acids do also)

but Dr iodine is not the same formula as lugol's,

if i recall correctly I think it is soduim iodide.

I'm a little confused -- and worried -- about this. Are you saying

that Dr. has a white iodine with a different formula, or that

the product she sells labeled Lugol's 5% is a different formula?

I was so worried about this, I wrote before even thinking of

checking my Lugol's bottle. :) It's definitely potassium iodide.

Yes , that's really hat I mean !

I found that recently as I was considering buying from a clark's french site, but it's the same with us/uk/... sites (those I visited at least)... see this site for instance (last lines note):

http://shop.toolsforhealing.com/Lugol_s_Iodine_30ml_p/dcr-lugols.htm

be careful on dr clark's products site if you find "lugol's" you might see "sodium" instead of "potassium" or nothing about formula...

Syviane,

I just went to your link and it turns out these people are selling their

own product which is a " Veggie Wash " and not Dr. 's Lugol 5%.

Here is their reference to Dr. , which can be very misleading:

" Dr. could not find a proper source of potassium iodide and has

recommended the use of sodium iodide instead. For this reason our

Lugol's is now made with sodium iodide. "

Just to clarify.

The Lugol's 5% from Dr s site is not true Lugol's as it is sodium iodide

and not potassium iodide.

The white iodine is different on Dr 's site and it is only potassium iodide

in water. The white iodine that I have is potassium iodide, iodine and ammonia.

I've just gone to her site and found that, indeed, what is being

sold there is "Water,

Sodium Iodide, Granular Iodine (2%)" -- the "Veggie Wash."

What I bought from Canada (Health In-Sync) is labeled: Lugol's

iodine, 5% -- filtered water, potassium iodide, granular iodine.

The only reference to is as follows: "Use only as directed

in Dr. Hulda 's books." I believe what I have is the

standard Lugol's which sells in Canada, very cheaply, in 2 oz and 4 oz bottles.

I don't know what arrangement with Dr. results in the

recommendation on the bottle.

Hi Sylviane,

Here is a link the Dr s EU site where they are selling white iodine at 7

euros for 4oz.

http://www.store.eu/search.php?mode=search & page=1

I actually bought my De La Cruz white iodine in the US. Ordering it online

would be very expensive I think.

Hope this helps

PS There is a new site in France which is selling Lugol's 5%. It is expensive

at 25 euros a bottle. Here is the link

I just bought Lugol's from amazon.com, I just picked the one with the lowest

shipping rate, and it said co-op something.
