Guest guest
Dear friends, And now it is with an NGO working with sex workers in Kerela. The silence from NACO is deafening. How can people working in this field feel secure if the National Body does not take a stand in support of the work it expects from NGOs. Even if individuals in NACO say that they are with the NGOs verbally, they need to take a stand for any of our work to be encouraged. Is this an indicator of how effective our AIDS Control programme Is? Do people in high position really feel comfortable with themselves? Tomorrow it wouldn't surprise me if a State AIDS Control Society is booked for indecent depiction of women through its safe sex literature. And this is no laughing matter. I thank all those who have spoken up and continue to help our cause by asking for justice and 'an enabling environment' (which is the catch phrase of interventions supported by SACS). In solidarity.
