Guest guest
If you look at the ingredients it says Prolamine Iodine (zein) Here is the link to what Prolamin is on wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prolamine Here is the link to what Zein is on wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zein -Zed
Guest guest
The box it came in is long gone. The bottle doesn't clarify what type of iodine it has in it unless (zein) means something. It also has 20 mg's of calcium. I bought it at the health food store just before I found this group. If iodine could be considered tasty, it tastes worse than idoral. My daughter prefers idoral and I crunch up her tables. I have to give the health food store a call tomorrow. If I remember, I'll ask if they know.Debbie Maybe their product literature tells you. Guest guest
Thanks - I had a few minutes to do more research and this is what I came up with - could be an issue for those with a corn allergy. Standard Process has another natural iodine product, Prolamine (3 mg iodine) made by biological fermentation of zein (corn), http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0ISW/is_279/ai_n16865318/ I found it interesting that this "doctor" the talk about is not named yet they discuss it in comparison to Dr. Brownstein. Guest guest
So, is iodine ever naturally bound to a plant protein? That just sounds to me like somewhere I wouldn't want to go. Guest guest
I stumbled on to this information on Prolamine Iodine. It appears it was formerly called Organic iodine. I believe Iodoral and Lugol's are inorganic? http://www.greenwillowtree.com/-strse-406/prolamine-iodine%2C-organic-iodine%2C/\ Detail.bok I also found this article on Iodine and selenium on the same website. I have not read it though but it looks very relevant to this Group. Guest guest
Hmmmm-I think you are correct about the inorganic.I still wonder if any naturally-occuring ioding is bound to plant protein or if that is just a lab trick. The sel/Iodine article lends understanding to the need for selenium, but still has some of the phobic ideas about Iodine. sighJudyAnd this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 17:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. Guest guest
I read a paper by Guy Abraham that stated that all of the negative iodine studies were done on Organic iodine and not on inorganic. I can not recall exactly were it was but I believe it was in the research library of the Optimax website. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Maybe > > > their product literature tells you. It doesn't mean anything in > > > " iodine terms " . > > >  > > > Steph > > >  > > >  > > > > > > prolamine > > > iodine? > > > > > >  > > > > > > I have seen a product from Standard Process that is called > > > Prolomine Iodine. > > > It is a 3mg tablet of Iodine. > > > What does > > > Prolomine mean? > > > Thks, > > > JOhn > > > >
Guest guest
I never read you are supposed to chew or dissolve prolamine into water before ingesting it. I just take 4 pills per days spread out. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Maybe > > > > > their product literature tells you. It doesn't mean anything in > > > > > " iodine terms " . > > > > >  > > > > > Steph > > > > >  > > > > >  > > > > > > > > > > prolamine > > > > > iodine? > > > > > > > > > >  > > > > > > > > > > I have seen a product from Standard Process that is called > > > > > Prolomine Iodine. > > > > > It is a 3mg tablet of Iodine. > > > > > What does > > > > > Prolomine mean? > > > > > Thks, > > > > > JOhn > > > > > > > >
