Guest guest
Are you taking Magnesium? I didn't see that on the list. You need sufficient magnesium. taking Iodoral and all the supplements with liver issues - lotsa questions! I have questions about liver issues and using iodine. For the past two annual physicals and labwork, my liver enzymes have been elevated. Each time they have returned to normal when rechecked, and all the hepatitis and other stuff came back normal/negative. I'm on dessicated thyroid (first Armour but now NatureThroid) and Iodoral 50 mg with selenium, zinc, Vit. C and D, ATP Cofactors, and B12. I suspect that my liver enzymes are elevated again, just based on how I'm feeling lately. Also, I have been under a bit of stress lately, more than "normal".Does taking 50 mg Iodoral daily stress the liver? I assume that it does, since detoxing is going on and the liver is involved with eliminating toxins?Someone on one of the thyroid lists mentioned recently that selenium stresses the liver, so I stopped taking it. Is this a mistake? Even though I have had liver enzyme elevation recently, should I continue taking Iodoral and all the rest listed above?I have been a bit lax about sea salt but have started that back up again. When we pulse dose Iodoral - as in take a break for the weekend or a few days - should we continue the rest of the supplements?thanks for reading! I think of it as my vitamin C but it's of course got the magnesium and calcium too. More than one scoop a day and I have an upset GI system. Guest guest
A liver cleanse would probably help a lot. The toxins need to clear out of your liver, and if they are just piling up, you will have trouble. Search the past posts for lots of suggestions on liver support and cleanses. NAC or milk thistle would be a basic everyday thing you can take to help, then maybe a more heavy duty cleanse like mentioned just a few days ago. Dr. Lamphier, who posts here also, has made good recommendations also. Donna in IL I have questions about liver issues and using iodine. Guest guest
Your Dr. probably told you to avoid drinking alcohol.Probably DIDN'T tell you to avoid TYLENOL a.k.a. acetominophen. It is extemely harsh on the liver, and can throw you liver enzyme tests off. Not at all safe as advertised!Jim > > I have questions about liver issues and using iodine. Guest guest
,In time the iodine will likely help your liver enzymes as your body clears out crud. Mine have normalized into low teens after being elevated for 4 years. One liver cleanse that is gentle that I used was the one Steph mentions Metagenics ultra clear ph plus. I did end up with 2 surgeries in a day after doing a liver cleanse so I am aware of your concern. Selenium is a necessary piece of the process so 200-400 mcg helps your body clear things out. I found that a B-complex helped me quite a bit with the process of clearing as think I am slower responder. It took 4 month to clear the fibroid out of my breasts and have felt other physical changes. Another thing that may help you is TMG or DMG for your liver as I have used these some of the time to help support the liver. More vitamin C may help(beyondacentury.com is one source of these and c in powdered form.) Was it the cleanse itself that caused problems, and if so, what type of cleanse? Also, what is TMG or DMG?

I hardly ever take Tylenol, haven't had any for at least five years. Most medicines involve the liver at some point, and for that reason anyone with liver problems should carefully consider anything they do. That's why I'm asking about these supplements! I don't know what is " hard " on my liver when it comes to supplements because they don't teach that in pharmacology courses, those mostly deal with prescribed medicines or OTC drugs. Guest guest
You are confusing a gall bladder cleanse with a liver cleanse. I just did the gall bladder cleanse and it was unpleasant but I did fine. It is not very common that people end up in the hospital if they do the right prep. Liver cleanses do not involve the passing of stones. Guest guest
, There are always 2 sides. Mostly you hear the “dangerous” from the allopathic side, like it treats much of the natural treatment realm. Why not read www.liverdoc.com, or www.oasisadvancedwellness.com. Guest guest
Hello Donna, I have been having my clients do liver cleanses for more than a decade now, and all with great results...never one had to go to the hospital...it is not dangerous.
