Reinvigorating the thyroid

I am new to the group and have some thyroid issues I have been dealing with for

several years. My T3 and T4 are at the low end of the acceptable range and my

TSH is high-12. Two health care providers have told me once your thyroid starts

to slow down you have to go on some type of hormone replacement. Is this fact or

fiction? I have resisted going that route. I tried a product called thyroid

helper along with Iosol iodine (by Wellness Resources)for quite a while but with

no significant results. For the last 3 months I have been taking a product

called thyroid PX by WTS, the folks that are connected with s. It requires

a prescription. I am getting 12 mg of iodine a day presently and seem to be

feeling better with more energy. I have not been retested since starting on PX.

My age is 57 and I am basically in good health.

I would appreciate any comments from any of the members that would care to

share.

Thanks,
