Guest guest
Iodine is not a panacea. If you have internal hemorrhoids, drink 's aloe Vera juice or Desert Flower brand Aloe Vera juice or gel. Drink 3 times per day until the hemorrhoids are gone. It should go away pretty quickly.I realize that this is the Iodine list and all, but please be reasonable about the uses and limitations regarding iodine.JagJoanne, try getting the daily email and not go to the digest. the daily email is a good way to read the posts and the not trimming doesn't enter into the picture much. Guest guest
Actually, I've been using it on my spider veins, and there is a definite improvement-- I'd been waiting to mention it until I was sure. Others have reported success with varicose veins. Hemorrhoids are varicose veins. On page 22 of Dr B's Iodine book, there is a list of " Conditions Treated With Iodine " , and hemorrhoids are on that list. Not to say that there aren't many other good treatments, and aloe vera is excellent for the entire gastrointestinal tract. But iodine is necessary to fundamental healing processes in our bodies, and if if a body is short on it, other remedies are going to have a harder time succeeding. -- >Iodine is not a panacea. Guest guest
Excuse me. But that is reasonable as far as I'm concerned. I can vouch for DMSO and Iodine for hemorrhoids as I have used it myself. I know it works, and fast too. I was desperate at the time, when I read about it, and figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. I've tried just about everything else under the sun. I had approximately 4 oz of DMSO gel left from a 16 oz container. I added approximately 3 droppers full of 2 % Lugol's to that (I don't reckon you have to be too exact with the measurements, and I'm not sure if it's the combo of both ingredients, or the ratio I used, the Iodine, or the DMSO that worked) and applied it inside to about the second knuckle deep(if you can stand it), and outside. In less than a week the hemorrhoids were gone. They've tried to come back a couple of times and I just reapply my mixture. And it works for me every time. The pain, burning, itching and swelling, were gone almost immediately after I applied it, inside of five minutes I'd estimate. Blessed sweet relief! I was totally floored by such a simple solution to the problem after all this time trying all kinds of stuff. If you've tried it and can say it didn't work that's all well and good, but please don't be downing it if you haven't. I know it worked wonderfully well for me. As far as I'm concerned if it works it's reasonable. What I'm wondering is why you're implying that it's not reasonable? I would never in this world would have thought it would work either if I hadn't tried it. And it could be that it won't work for everyone but it darned sure solved my problem. I never had hemorrhoid attacks until I gave birth to my two children. The straining during birth sometimes causes hemorrhoids for women. And every once in a while they flare up for me, without constipation as the culprit. I'd tired everything. Silica, mineral supplements, the turmeric helps but doesn't totally get rid of the problem, hawthorn and butcher's broom, bilberry, and Ginkgo, to prevent them. Epsom salt soaks, and baking soda soaks help too but not enough. I'd still get a flare up every once in a while. I just know that now I will not be without my DMSO/Lugol's mixture if there's any way humanly possible to prevent it. Guest guest
I'll bet Aloe Vera doesn't work johnny on the spot so to speak, LOL, nor as fast. I just could not believe how fast the DMSO/Lugol's mixture did work. I was completely dumbfounded at how fast the pain relief occurred. If you have ever had hemorrhoids the pain cannot be described adequately. And to get pain relief in five minutes or so, was an eye opener for sure. Maybe it's because that area is so tender and the stuff absorbs so quickly. I really don't know why at this point. I haven't run across any research that explains why it works so well and so fast. I know DMSO is a solvent that carries anything mixed with it through the skin and into the bloodstream. So I'm thinking maybe the DMSO killed the inflammation and pain and the Iodine healed the veins. DMSO is a well known topical analgesic and anti inflammatory(I've used it on sore muscles, and joints, and sprained ankles and such, anywhere there's pain and inflammation). But I'd never thought to use it for hemorrhoids, LOL. I have no idea what action the Iodine had in the whole process. Guest guest
Dear Bethann,Could you please share with me details. Does it help to completely eliminate hemorrhoids? I don´t have painful attacks but they are still down there , not that active and small , only sometimes I can feel it, but still would very much like to be totally clean from these nasty friends. And what is DMSO and where to get it? Is there any other possible ways how to get that iodine in that right place, smile. Thanks a lotAiste > >> Joanne, try getting the daily email and not go to the digest. the >> daily email is a good way to read the posts and the not trimming >> doesn't enter into the picture much. > > >
Guest guest
Aiste, DMSO is a natural solvent from tree lignin. You need to be careful that your hands are clean and the skin you apply it to. It will carry ANYTHING on the skin into the body. It soaks through ALL the layers of skin. There might be a slight burning sensation when it is applied, but it's never hurt me, or caused a rash or anything. DO a search on Google, there is a ton of info on DMSO, and it's mostly not in geekspeak. Here are some videos of a 60 minutes special about DMSO. It pretty much explains everything about DMSO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0i7jARfKeI & feature=PlayList & p=99906A5A7D6BB8BE & p\ laynext_from=PL & playnext=1 & index=14 I bought mine on Amazon.com. I bought the gel so it would stay put when I applied it to joints and muscles, but it comes in a liquid as well. Mine is supposedly for vet use, none of it has recommended for human us on the label, but DMSO will never get FDA approval due to the reasons given in the videos. I've been using it for years, and have had no harm from it. It's one of the only things that helped with joint and muscle pain before I did some research and discovered thyroid glandulars. I thoroughly investigated and researched DMSO before I decided to try it. Yes, the hemorrhoids seem to be completely gone. I use the mixture once or twice a week now to prevent them from ever coming back. I dunno about application, LOL, maybe you could get a little squeeze bottle with a small enough tip, and apply it that way, or you know what, maybe one of those bulb things they use to suction babies noses and mouths would be small enough. Otherwise a douche bottle might work. Or maybe a dropper from an empty bottle, that's pretty small? You have to be careful using hard objects or you can perforate the lining of the anus, then you'll have more problems, and the irritation makes the skin more fragile. I was in too much pain to tolerate something hard going in there anyway. I just washed carefully, rinsed, and dried gently, and then used fingers to apply the mixture, then washed my hands and applied again. Usually I got my fingers good and wet with the mixture, washing my hands between each time, and did three passes with it, to make sure the area was well saturated. And I didn't wipe the area after. I just let it absorb. I guess you'll have to experiment with an application route that works for you, LOL. My way certainly isn't very fancy, and it requires no extra equipment. I tried latex gloves once or twice, but I couldn't even tolerate those. Like I said the pain is indescribable if someone hasn't experienced it.
