Guest guest
Hi, One thought is the T3 and the iodine together are making your thyroid more active and that is causing the loose bowels... I think I have been having that problem when increasing the T3 because it is so available for use... Also, I have ordered an extended release Vit. C and changed to Magnesium glycinate which has helped some too. On 3/30/2011 6:15 AM, alecallo wrote: Hello all, I have Hashimoto and am hypo (poor conversion). My doc recommended i get on Cytomel but in reading Dr. Brownstein's book "Overcoming Thyroid Disorders", he seems to recommend either Nature Throid or a compounded slow release T3 preparation. Any recommendation as to what to start with? Also, I started the iodine protocol two weeks ago and lately have been having brutal and ongoing lose stools...I have backed down on Vit C but now worry that I won't be getting enough. Are there any vit c supplements out there that are easier on the bowels? Thank you for your input, Anne G.
Guest guest
How much magnesium are you taking? How much Vit C? ime the magnesium is far more likely to be the culprit. What form of magnesium are you taking? I am so sensitive to it that I have turned to just soaking in it in the bath (epsom salts) and using the magnesium oil topically. I also eat a lot of home-grown greens out of my garden, but anyway, what are you taking for magnesium? -- At 10:14 PM 3/31/2011, you wrote: >Hi, > >One thought is the T3 and the iodine together are making your thyroid more >active and that is causing the loose bowels... Guest guest
Yes. I always had loose stools from vitamin C until I found a type that is derived from Cassava Root. (Allergy Research Group) Most Vit. C is derived from corn. And unless it's organic, it's genetically modified. Many of us are allergic to GM corn. > > Hello all, > > I have Hashimoto and am hypo (poor conversion). Guest guest
Did your doctor recommend T3 because you have a reverse T3 problem, ie. that the receptors are blocked and using T3 helps to unblock them? If that is the case, using the T3 is usually temporary until your symptoms improve. You might want to read about it on the natural thyroid hormone forum or the book/website stop the thyroid madness.
