Guest guest
Does ANYONE know of a way to get Naturethroid online without a prescription? I currently take Synthroid and Cytomel. I want to change to dessicated natural. I spoke to my prescribing doctor, my GP, and she gave me the usual line about " not standardized, etc. " I fired my Endo years ago. My GP is great and has helped me with other alternative prescriptions. But not this one. I am on Medicare and cannot afford to go to a holistic MD who might prescribe it. I self treat with the Iodine and other supplements. I do alot of research online before I add/change part of my regimen. I could use the conversion charts and take the dessicated accordingly. I just don't know how to get it. Guest guest
We don't discuss getting prescriptions without a rx here. Because I am studying for an ND it is *technically* not legal it can add liability to me by allowing it to be discussed and offered here. Guest guest
I don't believe you can. As for it not being standardized that is not true. You will need to bring her info from the maker. RLC labs the maker of it does have info on their site about it. While your at it search for info online re synthroid. They did a study not long ago that indicated that synthroid was having issues with standardizing . I think it was 2 years ago. Perhaps someone on the list here has the info? I would keep pushing this doc you have Meredith Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Re: For the thyroid patients taking Natue-throid Does ANYONE know of a way to get Naturethroid online without a prescription? Guest guest
Hi Beverly, Try this with your doc. Be sweet Download and print this Armour thyroid patient insert: http://www.frx.com/products/armour.aspx Give it to your doctor and tell him/her you want to have it prescribed on a Therapeutic Trial Basis for THREE MONTHS so Doc can see what is going on when you take labs and can track it. Tell her you want the " generic HYPO-Allergenic " brand which is NatureThroid. Dont bother telling Doc about the reformulation.. Too much infor messes with their minds, Ive found. MAKE SURE your Ferritin level is at least 60 . 70-90 would be even better. And make sure your ADRENALS are good so this " trial " goes well. Point out that Armour thyroid and the " generics " have been Certified by USP U.S. Phamacopeia for their strengths and contents. So no worries about not being able to tell how much you are getting. IT IS standardized. You may want to counter any arguements about Armour saying that the OTC thyroid supplements are the ONES that are NOT USP certified and have uneven product content. Point out that Armour Thyroid is listed in the PDR (Physician's Desk Reference). Tell doc your pals swear by it and their hair has stopped falling out among other benefits. I wish you luck on this. NatureThroid is a godsend, works fabulously and SO MUCH better than Synthroid/Cytomel. In my case, massive hair loss stopped, dry skin is getting way better, the edema is GONE :, blood pressure is getting back to low normal, and wow, I sure feel better. I was on Synthroid/Cytomel and all the above symptoms and others I had with it are GONE or improving rapidly. Dont give up. Insist sweetly with a smile and get your way. Hopefully doc will do this on a Trial Basis and when Doc sees the improvement, will let you continue. Remember to let 14 hours pass BEFORE you take your blood tests while on " Armour " or NatureThroid. I would also go to RLC Labs website and print out ANYTHING you think the doc would find enlightening re: NatureThroid and give it to him/her. Best of luck, Val M. > > Does ANYONE know of a way to get Naturethroid online without a prescription? I currently take Synthroid and Cytomel. I want to change to dessicated natural. Guest guest
I understand, Steph. Sorry. I do know that there is not a problem with standardization in the dessicated products. But it is difficult to convince an MD who has been brainwashed. I will keep trying with her. Beverly > > > > > > " RLC Labs is pleased to announce the following release dates for > > > Nature-ThroidT and WesthroidT. > > > > > > Grain (32.5 mg Thyroid USP) April 1, 2010 > > > Grain (16.25 mg Thyroid USP) April 10, 2010 > > > 2 Grain (130 mg Thyroid USP) April 30, 2010 > > > 3 Grain (195 mg Thyroid USP) May 15, 2010 > > > 1 Grain (97.5 mg Thyroid USP) June 15, 2010 > > > 4 Grain (260 mg Thyroid USP) August 30, 2010 > > > 5 Grain (325 mg Thyroid USP) September 15, 2010 > > > > > > The above strengths will be released in both Nature-ThroidT and > > > WesthroidT. > > > > > >
Guest guest
Thanks, Val, for all your input. I will try all these suggestions. One problem I have is that this is the same GP who has (after reading the literature I have given her) prescribed for me LDN and my B1 and Liver injections, per the Klenner protocol, for my MS. She does have an open mind and has done this for me, even though she could have turned me down. So I hate to " push the envelope " by asking for yet another " experimental " (in her mind) prescription. But I will keep working on her, " sweetly. Guest guest
Hi Beverly, Your GP sounds awesome, for having an open mind and willingness to try LDN. I haven't tried the LDN on my doc .. yet. but when I figure the timing is right, I intend to. Your doc may not be so leery if you suggest just a 3 month trial, and during that trial, things for you improve and you tell her about your positive progress. Take this time on Cytomel/Synthroid to get that Ferritin level up and get your adrenals optimal. I take Ashwagandha for adrenals at the suggestion of my Int Med. doc. Can't put too much blame on the docs who are hesitant. They have been " brainwashed " in part by Big Pharma with their free samples and slanted literature and too much of this is NOT learned in Med School. What seems to work a bit on my doc is I mention something, dont press it then at the next visit, bring it up again.. sweetly lol. Man I wish we all didnt have to do this. I mentioned Iodine once and my doc freaked rofl. Hang in there... sweetly LOL Val M. > > > > > > Does ANYONE know of a way to get Naturethroid online without a prescription?
