Trouble shallowing at dentist after being numbed

I was at the dentist yesterday getting my last mercury filling taken out. The

first shot did not even make me numb. The second made it hard to swallow. It

hurt on the left side of my throat right under my chin - before the neck starts.

It went away when the feeling came back and the numbness subsided. Has anyone

had a similar experience at the dentist?
