Guest guest
Greetings, I haven't posted for awhile and when I return I found it very interesting to read a bit on estrogen and iodine. Here's my current experience and question. Earlier this year I weaned my 10 month old and started 25 mg iodine. My TSH was 13 and my thyroid nodules had returned as well as my anti-thyroglobulin antibodies. I started back on 25 mg iodine and essential oil on my thyroid to reduce antibodies, and my M.D. put me on armour. My repeat TSH test in August showed my TSH was now .28. Although my Free T3 and Free T4 were in normal low range, my M.D. wanted me to continue on Armour. About this same time, I noticed night sweats starting and my period became irregular, between 14 and 50 days. My latest TSH is now .03. My M.D. wants me to continue for 10 more weeks as my FT3 and FT4 are now just higher than midpoint and he'd like to see these go higher. However, my latest blood tests show that my estradiol is < 10 and it's never been that low. My night sweats are every night. I had my estradiol checked again four days later and it was still < 10. I have 2mg estrace as I am also trying to go through a fertility cycle and this time my estradiol was finally 23. My progesterone seems a bit out of sync. Here's my question - with the iodine and armour thyroid which seems to have driven my TSH down to almost nothing, I was wondering if anyone else was going through this. I googled hyperthyroid and night sweats and that seems to be a symptom. I am very concerned about my menstrual cycles. Any comments/suggestions? My first request is asking my MD if I can go down from 120 to 90 or 60 mg of armour. Thank you - Cheryl
