RE: iodine intolerance

Hello ,

I am doing all of the companion supps except that my Selenium consumption is

only 55 mcg. in the form of a supp.

I do not mesure my iodine/iodide for now. I am really loading up on Vitamin D

and its being monitored by blood tests. I want to reach 55 to 60 ng/ml. That

means my body is processing a lot and so I will focus more on iodine/iodide

after my Vit D level is where I want it.

Right now I paint a 3 " diameter patch on my foot with an iodine/iodide

tincture of 2.5 and 2.5 % respectively. I do this 3 days then wait 3 days to

begin again. I know that sounds slow at best: just getting my feet wet for now.

Its amazingly powerful tho and I notice a difference. Oh, I take a multi that

has 150 mcg of potassium iodide with that.

As for Lithium, for now I will settle for my daily serving of Concentrace

trace minerals which contains 395 mcg.

I look forward to my new bloods which may reflect my current consumption of

iodine/iodide (albeit its a small quantity.)

Be well,

I already have a prescrip for blood tests that includes thyroid and Vitamin D.

So thats in the near future. If my Vitamin D is at the right level I will start

with Lugol's drops. I have to figure out how to get some extra selenium w/o

duplicating other nutrients in the process. I also need to up my prescrip for

Niaspan. If I'm going to add more Niacin, in addition to supporting Iodine, I

want it to benefit my HDL and LDL numbers and I know Niaspan will do that quite

nicely.

Sylviane,

Itching and redness were not unusual for me, though it's been a

while since those particular symptoms have been coming up.  It's

definitely detoxing, the iodine stirring things up, and I read

somewhere that the itching is deadened nerves waking up.  Having

said that, if the redness seems to be irritation of the skin -- as

opposed to inflammation below -- then you'll want to mix the Lugol's

with an oil before applying. (Coconut oil or hexane-free castor oil)

Speaking of nerves waking up . . . re: my "buffalo hump"

(cortisol-induced hard lump of fat on my spine, below the neck), I

have been using the Lugol's/castor oil on that, and recently I had a

small inflamed area just above the lump.  And then, a over a larger

area below, I began to get deep muscular pain.  The amazing thing

about this last area is that for the last 30 years or so, that area

has been totally numb -- dead to any feeling at all.  I used to beg

my son to massage and press hard there -- and never felt anything.

So this pain is very welcome, and I am hoping that I may one day see

the disappearance of my hump.

First time I painted the tumor it began to swell and was

very itchy and red.

Recently I put a small drop on some little things that I

didn't know if they were related to the tumor or not on

the sit of my breast and on the sternum and all the

sternum area became red and itchy...

any explication and advice?

Yes you are correct.  The rest are very toxic.

Regarding the lithium orotate, is there any restriction with taking this mineral

with other supplements, etc?

Should I take it many hours away from other supplements or thyroid meds, etc?

Thank you.

Cheers, JOT

What you are describing is common. Your skin is a major detox organ. Taking baths in 1 cup epsom salts with 1 cup hydrogen peroxide can help to detox the skin.

I'm not sure the detox process ever ends! I've been at this for almost four years not, have controlled detox symptoms with sea salt and companion nutrients and was fortunate enough to break out with some great looking bromide acne on my chin just before Christmas! What a nice gift from Santa...

One theory goes that the body hides toxins away, as a protective mechanism, & that as you detox, you get healthy enough to clean out some of those old pockets of garbage. It certainly FEELS that way sometimes, when there are hiccups in the detox process.AnneOn Dec 30, 2010, at 11:11 AM, Bbircie@... wrote: I'm not sure the detox process ever ends! Here is a link to an article about the orotates and the work of Dr. Hans Nieper,

written by Ed Sharpe and located on Dr. Lanphier's website:

http://www.oasisadvancedwellness.com/learning/orotates-mineral-transporters.html

The article includes what cautions may apply when supplementing with lithium

orotate.

As I look about for data regarding lithium & iodine I keep seeing references to

studies that show lithium either helps iodine stay in the body longer or helps

iodine be distributed more evenly ... but so far am only seeing these

statements on product sales pages and am hoping to find some of the studies or

articles by health practitioners. But then again I'm not done poking around :-)

Given the prevalence of halides that compete with iodine it seems that being

able to verify this would be significant. On it's own low dose lithium orotate

clearly has it's benefits but to have it affect iodine in the way that is being

suggested is just too interesting to pass up!

Hi

It would seem that lithium orotate (not sure about other forms) are not

available OTC in Canada. Rats.

You mention calluses. I have always had ridiculously thick skin on my feet and

heels. Does this indicate something? Will Iodine help?

Oasis Advanced Wellness ships internationally. Link to product and information

about the benefits of lithium supplementation:

Very interesting to read about Dr. Hans Nieper using lithium to improve liver

function!
