For those who haven't been taking iodine and will begin to supplement preventatively for the radiation possibility, what can we expect in the way of "side effects." I understand there is a detoxing factor and how can we navigate that?

Thanks,

Janet

Hi Dina!Welcome, and congratulations on having a D.O. that recommends iodine! Iodine is needed by every cell in your body, and is feeding your body, regardless of if you feel any different yet. It is NOT a medication, where you usually feel immediate results, it is a nutrient that will help your body heal and be nourished properly. Two weeks is a very short period of time, you are just getting started, so don’t feel like something is wrong. It took a long time for your body to get sick, and will take time to heal. Some people feel immediate results, but many take more time. I personally could not every say that I had significant changes in health, but looking back over the first year, then the second, etc. I can see how much healthier I am. My changes were very gradual, and I am glad I stuck with it. Iodine is a lifelong necessary nutrient. You have some major health issues, just keep on! Also make sure you are taking the companion nutrients to experience the best help. Iodine can help some with candida, but it usually takes other supplements to really kill off the candida.
