Guest guest
You might consider getting a blood test for food allergies. I found that I was allergic to sugar, dairy and yeasts for a test from US biotek for 300 foods. All these are genetic mild delayed reactions so harder to detect. But they had grave consequences with brain, GI tract that felt like I ate cut glass and impact on rheumatoid arthritis in pain in hands to elbows and feet to ankles. Many times we think we can get away with cheating but our brains and bodies pay for this behavior over and over again. Nightshade vegetables even give me skin rashes and intense pain for several days but they don't register on the tests so RA version of torture. It is another thing that might help you to heal and solve this health issue. But also keep a food diary and see if the episodes are worse after eating certain foods. Since all commercial food antigens used in testing are prepared from raw food, the results will only be valid for a person who eats that particular food raw. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2685801/'' W On 12/18/2010 6:34 AM, Amy/728207 wrote: Thanks Pam, good idea. Guest guest
The issue with leaky gut is that the immune system sees proteins in the blood that don't belong there, & the immune response is to proteins. (THe immune system is looking for biological invaders.) I don't think you get an immune response to minerals, which are, after all, needed by the body, & do not contain proteins.AnneOn Dec 18, 2010, at 6:34 AM, Amy/728207 wrote: Thanks Pam, good idea. Guest guest
Hi Amy,20 years ago my husband and son were treated for candida, a yeast overgrowth in the body, which causes leaky gut. Probiotics will help, but you really need to kill off the yeast also in order to get the leaky gut to heal. After they healed the leaky gut, most of their food allergies went away. Guest guest
Healing your gut can happen more quickly if you can try these things and they are relatively cheap to do.Have you tried L-glutamine powder. I bought the 2 pound size from vitacost for about 20 bucks and needed to get that twice. It will heal the small intestine. I would also get their mega digestive enzymes with meals.. If you body temperature fluctuates much or stays low then your enzymes won't work correctly. We could get that from eating raw foods. My chiropractor had me eat raw egg shakes every morning for 2 years to correct my protein absorption problems on blood test which are acting up again. She is Japanese so not one bit worried about Salmonella with organic eggs. I never did have that issue. Another thing is making your own kombucha for probiotics. The pills are fine but kombucha will really reestablish your gut much faster. Look for a live one in fridge at natural food store that doesn't have any fruit juice in it as that molds. Brew tea and cool and add to sun tea jar. Cool to room temp. Add half cup sugar, honey or aguave nectar to feed the yeast. Sugar actually creates a stronger brew but as am allergic to that, I use one of the others and have a few more problems off an on. It will brew up in 6-10 days depending on your house temperature. Need to leave the mother for making the new batch again. It looks like bread yeast in water normally. I wonder if your food panel was US biotek as the naturalpath did one on me that only found the dairy allergy and not sugar and both type of yeasts. Food allergies are a moving target and can grow and decrease by body health. Some won't adjust for one allergy while others have hundreds and do learn to change and cope. Hope this helps. Guest guest
We ate a candida diet – no carbs, no sugars, slowly adding foods back in over a years time, plus they took Nystatin orally and lots of probiotics.
