Guest guest
I was wondering what the dosage would be (if known) for someone that became pregnant while taking iodine. I'd guess you'd need it during pregnancy but with the detoxing it causes...would that harm the babe? I'm sorry if this is OT. I didn't see any search results for iodine and pregnancy groups. Thanks! Guest guest
Breast feeding depletes mothers of iodine so supplementation is critical. This makes sense to me. I know many families where the first child has no health issues but each child there after aren't as lucky. Sorry, I don't have a link. You, of course, don't want to go into detox while breastfeeding, as mentioned before. Guest guest
Would you say there is a window to wait after detoxing with the iodine before strewing the system with a pregnancy? Also....would you recommend a mother start the low dose if she's never been on it? Would the dosage start a detox that you'd want to add extra fiber to help pull it from the mother so as not to saturate the babe in toxins? Or...would you wait until say the second trimester? I too would love more info. I've been a doula for 17 years and a midwife assistant ( really an awed gopher ) and in none of my studies was there EVER anything said about iodine....although brewers diet does support lots of salt and iodine rich foods ..... If yourve info id appreciate if you'd share with me also...and privately of course. Thank you! Honey .....oh...anything over post partum depression and iodine? Guest guest
Why do people keep suggesting that subjects about iodine go private? Any subject about the function of iodine is on topic for this list, pregnancy, breastfeeding, whatever. -- >If yourve info id appreciate if you'd share with me also...and privately >of course. > >Thank you! ~~~ There is no way to peace; peace is the way ~~~~ --A.J. Guest guest
I thought Id been hammering long enough and didn't wish to clog the board. Thought if I found more id send it to group leader to see about uploading info over iodine and conception/pregnancy and nursing. Id love to see the file about kids and iodine but I'm not locating it. I did find the pics which were amazing to see. Would someone mind pointing me in the right direction? Honey > > > Why do people keep suggesting that subjects about iodine go private? I started when they were 3 & 6 and they are now 8 & 11. Steph Re: Iodine and pregnancy I thought Id been hammering long enough and didn't wish to clog the board. Guest guest
Weston A. Price found this in his studies of cultures from around the world. He believed that mothers became depleted of many nutrients after the birth of their first child, unless they had a good, traditional diet without processed foods. He talked about how the mouth structure and teeth of subsequent children deteriorated (unless the diet was very good).
