Lugol vs Iodoral

I am a newbie to the word of iodine...I have Hashimoto's which is being

under-treated by a PC who refuses to see beyond the *numbers*. I am

investigating iodine supplementation after trying the patch test and having the

iodine completely GONE from my skin in less than 7 hours. I also do not use any

iodized salt, am a vegan, and do not eat anything with iodine in it.

My question is: is there a general prefrence for one option over the other? I

use a compounding pharmacy, and the pharmacist makes Lugol's but requires a

Rx...(yet I see you can get both lugol's and Iodoral without).

TIA
