Guest guest
I use the Standard Process product Antronex for supporting the liver and have great success. My dosage was muscle tested at 15 tabs per day, twice daily and after one week I went down to 10 tabs for a couple more weeks. My eight year old started at six per day, 2 with meals. I had taken Milk Thistle and dandelion root for at least six months or more but still needed the Antronex. Incidentally, it was determining an allergy to wood and trees that led to the liver. Joan > > > > > > > > > > > > Is she taking the companion nutrients? Has she done the salt loading? All this info is available on the site. Also important is for her to drink a lot of water ( good formula is to drink half our body weight in ounces. for example, if she weighs 150 lbs, that would be at least 75 ounces a day) 12.5 is not a very high dose; some people actually feel better taking more than that. It's something one has to experiment with as we are all different and have different levels of halides that need to be detoxed. If what she is experimenting IS detox, than iodine IS right for her, just make sure she does salt loading and takes daily companion nutrients. Guest guest
I'm new as well. In the new member docs there is a Q & A from Flechas. In there he states that bromide has left the body after about two weeks. I'm sure that time period for bromide detox is not set in stone, but it's not months either. The salt loading is a great tool to push the bromide out. Not to be over used, but certainly in the first few days. Others who have gone thru more detox than I have can expound. I've been taking iodine for about four months now, the highest has been 25mg a day. I'm just discovering, here and on curezone, about higher doses so I'm working my way up to 50. My plan, since I am completely broke, is to do a test in 6 months, see where I am. I feel great. I was in the hospital last April with strep pneumonia, almost died. A month after I got out of the hospital, my temp was very low -- sometimes 95 -- and my hair started falling out in big clumps. Very distressing but I otherwise felt good. Low energy but good. Someone mentioned thyroid for the hair loss, I started researching and discovered iodoral. Three days after starting 12.5 a day, the hair loss stopped. And I've been on the path ever since. I'm 55yo, by the way. Sally > Is there any concensus on how long these symptoms might last for.. in terms of days / weeks / months??
Guest guest
I must say the way we are constantly bombarded with toxic halides in the environment, I doubt that bromide can totally leave the body in about two weeks. From what I have studied, it's an ongoing project to keep the toxins moving out of our body. I plan to take at least 50mgs and companion nutrients and organic diet daily for the rest of my life. But that’s just me. =-) Kathleen Re: How long does detox last for? I'm new as well. In the new member docs there is a Q & A from Flechas. Guest guest
Bingo! Someone had finally nailed it on the head. I'm almost sure we can not eliminate all bromide from our bodies. Then we've got RF radio frequency, similiar to microwaves or radio graphs, with all the cell phone towers, our cell phones, our cordless phones even at home provide risks in using them. I read up on this a few weeks back and it was kind of a big let down. I never carry my cell hone on my body. They are now linking behavorial problems in children due to our cells phones, wi-fi internet services and etc.Man has just polluted our world so much that when you really think about it and read all the info out there it starts to feel overwhelming. What has this got to do with iodine, everything I think. The way we eat, processed foods and fast foods, our enviroment and what we are just throwing out there at first without thinking of the long term consequences that go along with it.We are never going to be fully detox from the poisons in our world, never. Not the way we are throwing crap into our atmosphere without thinking about the long term damage that it'll do to the whole world.Depressing isn't it. from IllinoisFrom: Kathleen Blake <kathleenblake@...>iodine Sent: Tue, December 14, 2010 1:55:14 PMSubject: Re: Re: How long does detox last for? Guest guest
Yes. It's not possible to " get all the bromides out " because we are living in toxic bath of halides now. Unless they ban bromides completely, we're all exposed all the time. Getting iodine levels up high enables the body to displace halides in the body and put iodine back on the cell receptors. But if you don't keep the iodine input high, the bromides will take over again. The challenge of bromides/halides is why the need for iodine has changed. In order to stay properly sufficient in iodine it requires a much larger amount than it did before the industrial revolution. Dr Flechas' claims about bromides don't jive with the test results that Dr Brownstein is seeing. That paper was written in 2006, the state of our knowledge has vastly improved since then. -- >I must say the way we are constantly bombarded with toxic halides in the >environment, I doubt that bromide can totally leave the body in about two >weeks. Guest guest
It can be depressing, , but it is important to focus on what an individual *can* do about it and to be careful not to let it all overwhelm. I'm in my 50s and I can say that life does have a way of continuing to go on, despite how confusing and bleak it can seem. By taking iodine we can protect ourselves from a great deal of the damage these toxic chemicals do. By taking the companion supplements we ensure the iodine has what it needs to be utilized properly. -- >Bingo! Someone had finally nailed it on the head. Guest guest
Thanks for the pep talk.I might feel so bad if I haven't got so many mixed messages with what goes on with me. Anklosis spondolytis, chrohn's disease at the age of 19, celiac'sdisease 2 years ago, failed back syndrome, degenerating disc disease, I have 3 disc in my neck that will need to be replaced, but I'm scared to death, my teeth are starting to fall out because of bone loss in my jaw, I'll be 47 dec. 27. I also have so many skin problems, thank God they are hidden by clothing, that I'm starting to feel like a freak. I even try to talk myself into thinking it is all in my head, but that method isn't working either. I'm almost to the point where I'm totally lost anymore.I quit taking Iodoral, because living on $600.00a month just plain sucks. And since I have been without it for 3 months now, my stomach is killing me. I went it to see my GI doctor and his wife is my endocronologist. Before they will treat me they want me off the Iodoral. I know what it does for me, it doesn't cure me, but I feel better and have more energy, I also don't sleep. If I do it is for about 2 or 3 hours. I have struggled with this no sleep as best I can. I no longer have a tv in my bedroom, I removed the clock, low wattage light bulb, I'm trying so hard at times it feels like I'm trying too hard. And as for the companion nutrients, they are costly too. They have to be gluten free, soy free, dye free and just plain crap free. In the town I live in I have only Wal-Mart. I have a health food store that I can get one of my daughters to take me too but it is a 4 hour ride round trip and she is in medical school and working full time. I won't bother her unless I absolutely need to.I have had a wonder person on this list that helped me out. She sent me a bottle of Iodoral and I just cried that anyone would care about me that much to help me. A total stranger to me as I was to her.I plan on getting back on Iodoral next month but I have to part with other western medications to do so. No big loss, but I know what is going to kick in, where I'll spend the majority of my time in one particular room, and I won;t be able to leave the apartment until I'm fully emptied out and haven't eaten anything.I wish God would of help His hand out and told one of us human beings to stop messing up the world, but we all know that is just a fairy tale. I get so upset what some people are doing to our world and there isn;t a darn thing I can do about it but go with the flow.Sorry if this seems off topic, but I'm one that thinks anything any of us has to talk about when taking Iodoral is not off topic. Our health and our daily habits, trials and tribulations has everything to do with it and I know there are a few that disagree.Going gluten free for over a year now, low residue, low fiber and a low fat diet just hasn;t doen it for me and I'm starting to get upset with everything i have had to sacrifice. I can't even trust a regular doctor anymore. Mind, body and spirit. It ALL ties into one.thanks for allowing me to vent some and I do wish someone would lighten up a bit about things being OT. It all ties into one. If there are so many people belonging to this group they need to speak up instead of hiding. After all, if they are worried about their health, they will speak up and ask questions. That is why I lurked at first for awhile. To read and educate myself somewhat on the iodine and its protocal. I do believe that a mental health life is important as our physical health plus the iodone protocal. Holistic doctors treat mind, body and soul which to me also goes along with iodine. You can pop all the iodine you want but if your mind is not set int he right place, it'll do you no good. A positive attitude, which I usually have, is most important to healing and good health. Heck. I seen that in my veterinarian days when treating animals. It is just the way God made us. from IllinoisFrom: Baker <vbaker@...>iodine Sent: Tue, December 14, 2010 2:46:57 PMSubject: Re: Re: How long does detox last for? Guest guest
In my defense, I was pretty much ordered, as are all newbies, to read the files section. Great idea, not complaining at all. And I am almost done. Dr. Flechas Q & A is one of the first I read. I saw that it was an old file but assumed it was still relevant. If it is not, maybe a note could be made that some info has been updated and more to be revealed? I also assumed, but didn't write it in my last post, that the " two week " detox was just for the old stuff. Of course we are bombarded with bromides daily: mattresses, carpets, pest spray, inhalers, medicines, furniture, computers... probably be easier to list stuff it's NOT in! Not to mention fluoride and chlorine... what else? If we are diligent about the protocol, can heavy detox symptoms go on for months? It is not the case for me, but we are all different. I think that as we get healthier and iodine has started working for us, that we can throw off the halides easier, as a matter of course, without that initial heavy detox. And once I'd been through some herx days and I knew basically what to expect, that I wasn't dying, my anxiety lessened quite a bit about it. And perhaps (and I'm totally surmising here), each time we up the dose, could we see a heavier detox as we reach further in, so to speak? I have had minimal detox but certainly some and the salt has helped. But I expect, as I increase my dose -- since I'm still on such a low dose, that I'll have a herx effect just as I have had when increasing chelation agents. Chelation takes at least a couple of years, but even that, the extreme detox eases up for the most part as the burden is lessened. Our bodies are miracle machines and will repair if we can get to them in time. I NEVER want to go back to a hospital and am looking forward to being healthy again! Guest guest
, I " m so sorry you have so many problems, made worse by low income. I know how that feels. One way I deal with health food stores is to purchase necessasry supplements online, if you have access to a computer. Much, much cheaper and good quality. I find that the cheapest and best sources are vitacost.com, swanson.com, and iherb.com. The lugols solution is cheaper than iodoral, and that is what I use. I don't like to lie to doctors, but I will take my iodine despite their fears. I just don't tell them. Best wishes in finding help. Guest guest
Hi Sally-- We've actually removed that file because it's not helpful to people. We're in the process of taking off a lot of the material that is there because it's just too old to be relevant. We know so much more now than even 2 years ago. The better one's detox pathways are functioning, the easier it is to get rid o f the toxins and fewer detox symptoms. As one increases the amount of iodine taken on a daily basis, you'll reach a point where detox will get bad. At that point it's suggested to drop it down a notch and let it sit there for a longer period, and work on detox pathways. People with critical illnesses that demand high doses of iodine (such as cancer) are encouraged to get their iodine doses up high and keep them high and to just cope with the detox symptoms. People with less time-critical illnesses can go slower and therefore not have to suffer the detox symptoms so intensely. I know my detox pathways had improved significantly when I started losing weight following the iodine protocol. After about 6 months, I started losing weight, have lost 15+ pounds with no effort and it's staying off. Of course I do exert control, especially about sugars because I get hypoglycemic, but even that has improved greatly. -- At 05:10 PM 12/14/2010, you wrote: >In my defense, I was pretty much ordered, as are all newbies, to read the >files section. Guest guest
Thank-you JL. Lugol's would be like adding gasoline to my small intestines. No way. I'm ion the bathroom enough and have over 15 bm'sa day. The iodoral acutally took that pain away so I know in my head and stomach I need to get back on it. I eat only fruits, vegis and protein which is a no-no with the crohn's but I will be da!@ed if I eat only white rice and boiled chicken and eggs 3 times a day. I love fruits and vegis and chicken and fish and that is all that goes down me. I don't eat out anymore, no fast foods, no processed foods, nothing in a box or can. Only fresh, frozen and some meats. I have no problem with eating like this. I eat maybe a loaf a bread twice a year. I know what I put inside of me is what God made me for. He didn't make us to put all this crap inside of us, dyes, artificial this and that and so on. If you can't pronounce the ingredient on the package and don't know what it is, put it down and move on.What gets hard is if you are having a bad spell and don't feel good the only way I eat is to cook, from scratch basically, and there are days where I would eat and just drink water all day long. I get ill just watching people eat fast food hamburgers, taco bell, kentucky fried chicken. All this food is poison but no one seems to care. They are still cooking this crap and people are still eating it. Makes me ill. An no, I'm not jealous, I have just learned, the hard way and I just wished that everything I have let go would make me better.........but it hasn't and life goes on.So for you that think you have it bad, just think about being balled and chained to your toilet. Over 20 bm's a day, half the time not making into the bathroom only to have to clean a bigger mess. Malnutrition because of malasoprtion, weight loss, yeah 60 pounds in 5 months, I don't recommend it, not being able to sit down with onfort because your hiney is on fire, no social life unless you have a diaper on to leave the house and I could go on and on. I get a kick out of some of us that has a pimple here or this there. Damn, I wish I had those problems and I would trade you in a heartbeat. But then again I would never will this to anyone. It affects you mentally, and you have already witnessed, and physically. And doctors think you are a lost cause and there is nothing else they can do to me unless we want to start pulling out intestines, and I have personally had enough with 3 spine surgeries. Celiac disease is also damaging to our systems. But I'm not going to get into that. Whole wheat is not what they say it is.....in my eyes. If it can cause cancer, stay away from it. They say now that 1 in 130 people can not digest wheat and the numbers get higher each passing year. But that’s just me. =-) Kathleen Re: How long does detox last for? I'm new as well. In the new member docs there is a Q & A from Flechas. In there he states that bromide has left the body after about two weeks. I'm sure that time period for bromide detox is not set in stone, but it's not months either. The salt loading is a great tool to push the bromide out. Not to be over used, but certainly in the first few days. Others who have gone thru more detox than I have can expound.I've been taking iodine for about four months now, the highest has been 25mg a day. I'm just discovering, here and on curezone, about higher doses so I'm working my way up to 50. My plan, since I am completely broke, is to do a test in 6 months, see where I am.I feel great. I'm 55yo, by the way.Sally> Is there any concensus on how long these symptoms might last for.. in terms of days / weeks / months??
Guest guest
Bromide excretion can change from month to month. I had one Iodine loading test bromide excretion in the high 60's; next time down in the low 30's. Now, after having worked my way up to 50 mg. per day, my loading tests usually show a bromide excretion in the mid 30's, with an 89 - 92 % saturation. Go figure. I think because of all the bromide we are exposed to on a daily basis that our bromide levels are a bit of a moving target. BarbF In a message dated 12/14/2010 2:45:14 P.M. Guest guest
I have already lined up something for now with the help of other members one from this group and one from the LDN group.I'm hoping this will work. I had a positive attitude about LDN until someone stated they couldn't sleep while being on this med. I suffer from insomnia and am lucky if I sleep 20 hours a week. I went through a sleep lab and all they told me is that I don't sleep, insomnia. I thought for sure I would get help but didn't. I've been on sonata, lunesta and ambien cr. None of the worked. I've tried Kava kava, and valerian. I've tried melatonin. It is like I need to revamp my whole life. I no I have a chemical imbalance. I've been told this for years but none f the doctor's knew how to help me. I literally try to wear myself out physically but it is hard to d that being disabled. And now that it is winter time, it is just worse. I go outside every day but at 10 degrees you can't stay out too long. I have no mall to walk around in. I live out in the boonies so exercise is hard. I can walk for miles but with my spine as bad as it is I can't do too much of anything else and the cold weather makes you tense up which will cause more problems with my spine. I know I need to have the 3 discs in my neck repaired but after my L5 S1 took 3 surgeries to repair because of doc's mistakes I trust no one anymore. I know we are only human and we all make mistakes but if you are going to be a surgeon at least don;t have the attitude you are God.I got screwed big time. One doctor would blame the other and visa versa. I'll let God lead me down whatever road He thinks is best for me. I can't trust humans anymore. from IllinoisFrom: jaxi <jaxi.schulz@...>iodine Sent: Wed, December 15, 2010 12:41:29 PMSubject: Re: Re: How long does detox last for? you can order from India like a great many of us do (myself included) WAY WAY cheaper and just as good. Guest guest
ps let's take this to the OT group or talk about it privately.I refuse to get bawled out about this being off topic.Thank-you. from IllinoisFrom: DeNormandie <blessedark2010@...>iodine Sent: Wed, December 15, 2010 1:19:58 PMSubject: Re: Re: How long does detox last for? Guest guest
Anne,I live in a town with a population of 900 people. I feel blessed to have a wal-mart woman.I had to move to an area that would help me living on $600.00 a month. That is my ssi check. I get $65.00 a month in food stamps and I go to a local pantry only to return 85% of what I had received.I live in the boonies and can't even find a primary care physician that would help me with my medical problems. I have no primary doctor right now but am working to find one in my area. I will have to travel over a hour to reach one so I want to make sure they take my insurance first. Also doctors these days just want to throw pills at you. want help not using western meds.Back in the day, over 200 years ago, hoe did they even survive? I think I can survive without them and want to d things holistically. To me that is the best way. from IllinoisFrom: Anne Seals <anneseals@...>iodine Sent: Wed, December 15, 2010 3:24:57 PMSubject: Re: Re: How long does detox last for? Guest guest
Hi , Just order it from AllDayChemist.com. They are the cheapest around without an Rx. I even ordered for a few friends, it was over $400 and I didn't have any problems. I haven't had problems getting it through customs either. It just takes a long time. I would order a years supply at once because no matter how much you order, there is a $25 shipping fee. I order 4 packs at $16.?? each, for a year at 4.5. If you start slowly, which is recommended, it will last longer than a year. On one of the LDN sites, they tell you about ordering the brown bottle to keep it in and a 50 ml. beaker. You can get a syringe, without a needle, from your pharmacy for free. Or they have the ones you can buy which are about $3.00. I have been on it for a year and won't go without it. I hope to be able to add iodine soon. Adrenals first, then liver detox and then Iodine. At least that is how I think it will go. Looking forward to hearing about your experience. No treatment is stand alone from what I can see. And even though I am not on the Iodine, I am doing the complimentary supplements. They seem to help over all. Best wishes! Guest guest
Do what you can with the exercise. Every little bit helps! I hate it but am getting back into it. Am not lazy about anything else but my exercise. I have dogs to walk, so they keep me on the straight and narrow. They whine and pout if they don't get their walk. They won't leave me alone until we go. So, we go. I should be good for something else though. Oh, food! So much appreciation around here from them. LOL LDN usually only causes sleep disturbance the first week or so. You can also have vivid dreams. My dad enjoyed those. Anyway, try it, you have nothing to lose. If it doesn't work, what have you lost. I truly believe when I am able to add the Iodine to my routine, I will be doing really well. Guest guest
Thanks Grace. I have tons of syringes from my vet tech days. And yes, I need a dark bottle with dropper.Could someone steer me into the right place for the brown bottle? i would appreciate it. I've been taking are of a new born. Yep, Another teenage recipe. They were blessed when they out him up for adoption. Gosh it was so hard, I even cried buckets of tears but it is the best thing for the little guy. from IllinoisFrom: "tobdncng@..." <tobdncng@...>blessedark2010@...; iodine Sent: Wed, December 15, 2010 11:41:02 PMSubject: Re: How long does detox last for?
