Since iodine is used chemically to detect starch-by turning purple, I would guess that the less refined juice carried enough starch from the whole fruit to react. JudyThey that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. So recently started lugols....and the first few days I took it in OJ.....then i read about the citrus stuff.....so I tried it in water and thought I was going to lose my lunch...lol.....so I got apple juice and when I would put the drops in it would "dissolve" but I got a natural pressed apple juice (more like cider I guess) and I put it in and it turned dark purple! I still drank it and couldn't taste it....but it was strange! Why did this happen?
