Guest guest
I wish you every success in trying to find a cure for what you have. After six months on prednisone and nine weeks on a salicylate free diet the specialist told me to stop both. The diet was doing nothing but after dropping prednisone all symptoms have returned. I've given up. I've lost faith in the doctors here who are treating me as a guinea pig.christine alexandrou <christinealexandrou@...> wrote: Hi guysI just wanted to say thank you all for your help and suggestions. But now with my new diagnosis or hernia and reflux I am not sureI have Samters.I realize my asthma was due to acid reflux and bronchi constricting to protect itself.I beleive my chronic sinusitis is also due to reflux as I can feel Laryngopharyngeal reflux at night ,I sometimes swallow asi sleep all night.Theophilline, asthma medication and antihistamine all relax the airways and also relax the diaphragm muscles so make things worsefor reflux in the long run.Acid reflux causes eosinophilia in the eosophagus and larynxand why not sinuses.I am treated with a proton pump inhibitor.NSAIDS and aspirin cause acid reflux, with someone with already a stomach problem it s obvious the effect.I suspect mould/fungus sensitivity for my rhinitis as well andthat may have caused my polyps.I still dont know what contributes to the chronic inflammationin the nose regarding anosmia,I have tried different dietsand have trouble with accepting the salicylate theory .I know that if I take mucus thinner /acetyl cysteine I am considerably betterand can smell so it doesnt really matter.Thank you again for your support and friendship, you have been great. You can e-mail me privately should you wish to keep in touch.I've got to move ahead to greater things.God Bless you all and Heal each one of you Find local movie times and trailers on Movies. Guest guest
, I'll second and third what others are saying. Think you were the one who mentioned the N-Acetyl Cystine earlier. I took it for a month. After reading about it, I was concerned that I may have fried my liver with Tylenol PM (acetaminophin) that I had taken for a few years beyond the 14 day recommendation. Think you may have mentioned Colostrum too that also contains it. Best wishes and God bless you. (AZ)

Guest guest
You might find that medication for reflux helps your sinus symptoms. My doctors experimented with me, as I have reflux AND nasal polyps and am allergic to aspirin and NSAIDS. My ENT said the meds for reflux seemed to help some people with asthma and nasal polyps, so the 2 doctors consulted with each other and put me on Nexium twice a day for 3 months. Unfortunately for me, it made not difference in the polyp situation. I do not have asthma, so that was never an issue. I hope you are one of the fortunate ones that gets sinus relief from the medication for the reflux. Best of luck! Diane in Florida
