Guest guest
Have you read the new members document and are you taking the supporting nutrients? It is important that you use them. Buist, ND Owner / Iodine Group Thyroid gland feels bigger Hello everyone and greetings from Finland! I have goiters and I haven't got any help from doctors because I have normal blood tests. So, I have tried to learn as much as possible about this illness and found Dr. Brownstein's iodine book. It is not possible to measure iodine here in Finland, so I have ordered a test from Hakala labs and I am waiting for it. It might be stupid to start Iodoral 12.5 mg on my own, but I did so, I have been taking it a couple of days and now I feel, that my thyroid gland is a bit bigger and my heart is racing faster, but I have had palpitations earlier also. Do I take too much or is my thyroid gland graving more? I know I should wait for the test...

Guest guest
Swelling of the thyroid when first starting iodine supplementation is considered normal. The thyroid is trying to grab the iodine and asking for more. It's not stupid to start iodine supplementation without testing. Most people don't get tested. If you have goiter you are guaranteed to need iodine supplementation, because goiter is caused by lack of iodine. Feel free to dive in. Although I'm not sure what the answer is since you already ordered a test. But in health terms, there is no issue. If you had palpitations before, then it's not possible to connect it to iodine. However, palps can be a detox symptom. Be sure to read the New Member document which answers a lot of the early questions that arise. -- At 09:55 AM 3/11/2011, you wrote: >greetings from Maine USA! my son lives in Germany. you might feel >better on a larger dose, like 50mg. sounds like your body is asking for more. >gracia > > >On 3/11/2011 6:37 AM, johanna.leinonen wrote: >> >> >>Hello everyone and greetings from Finland! Buist, ND Owner / Iodine Group Thyroid gland feels bigger Thank you for replying, yes, I am taking all of those supporting nutrients and have been taking them in advance. I also have Dr. 's Super adrenal stress formula, Herbal adrenal formula and Adrenal Rebuilder in use. Could this be just a iodine starting reaction? Ithink I feel a little bit better after this short period, I have more energy now.I'm sorry if this email comes two times, I think I didn't success sending it first time..
