So I heard from my doctor today, who is increasing my Thryoid medication b/c my TSH has to be more suppressed then it is at the moment...I told him that I would be starting to take iodine soon and he said that he didn't think that was a good idea because it would feed the thyroid cells. I have no thyroid due to thyroid cancer in 2007 and currently have reoccurance. Can anyone comment on this?

Also, I told my doctor that I may not have to increase my Thyroid meds b/c I will be taking Iodide in the very near future. He said that Iodine will not affect my Thyroid meds. I've seen people post about taking Iodine and having to decrease their "Synthyroid" meds when taking Iodine? So is my doctor wrong? Can somebody comment on this?

Thx,
