Guest guest
I record Dr Oz's Show, partly to check up on him and partly to see if he has anything new. Since I fast forward through the show I can skip a lot of the crap. He looks good, explains things well, but not in depth. Though, I do like when he shows actual body parts - like when he showed a thyroid. It was good to show a healthy liver and a liver ruined by alcohol. A couple of things are happening, probably to the dismay of his marketing people and sponsors. His wife is into Reiki - not sure if she is a Reiki master or not, but she must have some influence on him as he talked about a variety of alternatives one segment, including aromatherapy (my thing). Guess I should have take notes, though I'm sure it's on his web site. One day he talked about hypothyroid symptoms, though did not mention iodine, but did mention that Armour works for people, though did not know why. I watched the salt detox carefully after seeing the post, and he was correct in having the guy, who consumed probably a cup a day of white salt, and has him reducing it to about 2tsp a day. Good thing as this guy is a chef and has serious weight problems. BUT, as some of you have said - he gives half truth - not all the truth as he neglect to explain the difference of salt vs sea salt. Today he talked about toxins and actually showed commercial cleaning products that are toxic and warned about them. The labels were covered to protect sponsors He has also talked about things to avoid like sugar, corn syrup, bleached flour, margarine, and saturated fats. I agree with these except to differentiate btwn organic grass fed saturated fats vs commercial cattle raising fats. He does say to eat organically whenever possible, though doesn't elaborate. He did show the ingredients of a honey nut cereal - first 5 or 6 ingredients were the top 3 bad ones. I noticed his hesitation, almost reading the name of the cereal outloud. I bet someone forgot to put tape over the product name :) I sent in an email suggesting he does a segment on Fluoride. Feel free to send in story suggestions. Maybe we can educate the wizard Sherry in Colorado
