Yes, when I read this, I immediately put this to the test by putting a drop of lugol's iodine into some water. Then, I added a squeeze of lemon. It went clear like magic. So, now, I take my lugol's iodine without anything remotely resembling citrus. I then take my vitamin C sometime later on in the day. Iodine is an element. Iodide is an ion that forms compounds. When the body becomes deficient in iodine, the thyroid attempts to compensate by enlarging to trap whatever iodine it can capture. This is a goiter. I was very much afraid when my goiter first appeared. If I had insurance, it is very possible that a doctor would have cut out my thyroid and I would have been very grateful. Fortunately, I was medically separated from the Houston Police Department and was unable to locate medical treatment that I could afford. So, I had to research the problem.
