Guest guest
I took Niason/500ml caps last night with vitamin c and magnesium olide. This is the first time I took the Niason. I flushed half the night. Is this a normal reaction? should I break get a smaller ml and take it morning and night? Pam
Guest guest
Niacin will give you the flush. I would take Niacin earlier in the day, if possible. Guest guest
You WILL flush with Niacin. That is what it is supposed to do. It dilates the blood vessels so the sludge can go through. But, I wouldn't start at 500 mg. Start with 50 mg and take until you no longer flush at that mg, then up to 100 mg until you no longer flush, and up to 125 mg, etc. 500 mg is WAY too much to start with. Also, niacin is best taken first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. (You will flush more on an empty stomach, but that is the whole point). Good luck, Beverly > > I took Niason/500ml caps last night with vitamin c and magnesium olide. This is the first time I took the Niason. I flushed half the night. Guest guest
Hi Pam, Some people are more sensitive to the niacin flush than others. If it was too uncomfortable you might need to ease into it slowly by dropping the amount and gradually increasing it as you build up tolerance. Also taking it with a meal slows down the absorption and can mean you avoid the flush reaction. I find if I take it in the morning on an empty stomach (just 100mg so far), the flush begins within 10 to 15 mins, lasts about an hour and I also look beetroot red for half the day > > I took Niason/500ml caps last night with vitamin c and magnesium olide. Guest guest
why not just take ATP cofactors from http://www.brestcancerchoices.org ? it doesn't make youflush. gracia Beverly53 wrote: > > You WILL flush with Niacin. Guest guest
My opinion would be that if it doesn't flush, it's not doing what it is supposed to be doing. I understand there are no-flush niacin's out there, but we need the flush to dilate those blood vessels. The flush is our friend. Guest guest
I did not think of it that way. The flush is my friend, ok. Thanks for the information.
