Guest guest
Someone posted these links on another group. I have been watching the development of the Codex since I first caught wind of it several years ago. This concerns me greatly. All of us need to be ready to shoot this down if they try to pass this in the US. Because I know pharma, the FDA, and the AMA are going to push for its' adoption here in the US. I can see it clear as bell, there's a big battle ahead over this. And if we don't watch the FDA they'll adopt it behind our backs. And we won't know about it until the doors of the local health food stores are chained shut, and the websites where we buy supplements are shut down. Then you won't get anything even Vit C without a prescription. Pharma will control it all then, and you can bet you won't be able to get anything. The FDA has already had meetings and hearings about Codex. They post announcements of the hearings and comment periods on their web site. You have to hunt for the announcements though and you never see them in the papers or on the news. Look at the restrictions on shipping to US states. According to the post there were 45 items restricted in 2009, and as of 2010 there are 50. This is the State of California in a supposedly free United States, not something being shipped through customs to an overseas country. http://www.swansonvitamins.com/html/SHPShipRestrictions.html I really would like to see someone challenge this in court as unconstitutional and a violation of civil liberties. They're also illegally restricting free trade and interstate commerce. Acidophilus is not illegal in the US...at least not yet. And they're allowing yogurt makers, in other words big business, to sell items that contain it in the grocery stores. They should not be able to tell someone they cannot buy and have mailed to them from within the US, anything that is legal to buy in the US. The crazy thing is they import poisonous stuff from China, but want to keep us from legally purchasing an item that is legal to buy anywhere in the US. Why should it matter if it comes through the mail? They are testing what they can get away with folks. What we will allow them get away with. Or that's the way it looks from here. That is some coincidental timing don't you think? And if we don't do something they will take away Iodine, and everything else as well. They've been trying to do away with colloidal silver, and pharma working through, and bank rolling supposed environmental groups succeeded in getting nano silver regulated by the FDA as a pesticide, if you can believe that, because it kills microorganisms, fungi, and molds. The poster wanted to order acidophilus. Now why would they restrict acidophilus? I've never heard of any problems whatsoever with acidophilus. Why restrict any of the things on that list? This really bothers me a lot. It's really kind of scary that they've been doing this in California, and the list keeps growing. Someone who lives in California needs to get an ACLU lawsuit going to stop that mess.
