Guest guest
Yes, the iodine protocol can be taken with leaky gut & candida. has spoken about her own gut issues in the past and perhaps a forum search with 'stephanie leaky gut' might bring you some results to look at. I recall that she said that she uses Iodoral instead of Lugol's because she felt it was easier on her gut. Other people have no problem with the Lugol's so it is an individual choice. Lugol's works out to be less expensive. But of course the protocol will be much more effective when the gut is better. The best thing to heal leaky gut is a short term high dose of glutamine. Dr.'s Eades discuss this in one of their books, giving exact dosages & length of time - I think it was two weeks or something. I also read and another list member speaking highly of Dr. Chris Meletis, ND so I checked out his website and see that he has some really good articles ... one of which speaks to the importance of Glutamine for gut health. http://www.drmeletis.com/Articles.aspx > > Hi, > I'm 40 years old with Hashimoto's, mild adrenal fatigue, leaky gut and food allergies to 37 items. I also have low iron levels which I'm working on increasing and a high reverse T3. I currently take 90mg Armour and 10 mg. HC daily and planning to switch to cytomel at some point. > > I am wondering if iodine is okay to take with a leaky gut and possible candida? Guest guest
I think you will want to take enough Iodoral or Lugols (50-100mg) and your doses of Armour and HC are half what they should be. docs get confused about dosing. HC is best taken 5mg 4X a day and Armour is not dosed to TSH. Guest guest
Yes iodine is fine to take with leaky gut. I also had this problem and use Iodoral. Also fine for candida, there are a lot of folks with candida who use iodine. Linn > > Hi, > I'm 40 years old with Hashimoto's, mild adrenal fatigue, leaky gut and food allergies to 37 items.
