Guest guest
I too was having problems with Lugol's; I was taking it with food, but felt queasy sometimes, and had what felt like acid reflux, so I was worried the Lugol's had given me or exacerbated an ulcer (my father had one years ago). Someone here posted a Curezone link to "how to take Lugol's," and I decided to try it: first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach, in water only, no food or other beverages for 30 mins. I assumed I would be miserable and that any severe pain would signal ulcer conditions, GERD, who knows what else. Instead, it's been great--queasiness and other stomach problems have all but disappeared. I only take 12.5 mg (2 drops of 5% Lugol's), but maybe this is giving the Lugol's the chance to do its work. Don't know why this method works so well--seems counterintuitive, but it certainly does for me, even when I'm traveling and under extreme stress (when drinking a glass of iodine at 5 AM seems like a horrible idea--but it made me feel much BETTER than usual when I was at a five-day competitive event over New Year's). After the 30 mins. is up, I eat my Brazil nuts and drink my home-made kefir and OJ, along with a handful of pumpkin seeds for the magnesium... Thanks to whoever posted the Curezone link, Adrienne from Texas From: Beth MN <mbdawso@...>Subject: Re: iodine with food or with apple cider vinegar?iodine Date: Thursday, January 14, 2010, 12:13 PM The J Crow web site has instructions there, and the guy says that for the Lugol's drops, the best way is to put them in ACV and drink them, around dinner time. I started out doing this, and was fine for a few weeks, but then noticed some stomach irritation, so I have switched to Iodorol, in the morning with other supplements, and have no problems at all. Beth in MN>> I wouldn;'t use apple cider vinegar at all. I just read on the Willis Protocal that ACV shouldnt be used at all. Lemon juice is better but you don;t need anything with teh iodine. Just take it with water on an empty stomach and it doesn't hurt your stomach. I have crohn's and celiac's and I was worried about what it would do to my stomach. The iodoral has a protective coating on it so there is no irritation.> > from Illinois
