Can too much iodine cause very high cortisol and its related symptoms of sleeplessness, strong hormonal palpitations (anxiety), and low blood-sugar issues? After about 5 - 6 months of taking 4 Iodoral a day, I upped my dosage to about 7-8 per day for about 4 weeks. (This was before I joined this board and knew much about iodine.)

Either by coincidence or not, right after that time I began to have the above-mentioned symptoms along with fibromyalgia symptoms. I stopped the Iodoral cold turkey (dumb, I know, but I was all alone figuring out my illness at that time and didn't know which of my supplements might be contributing to my problems).

What is the overall relationship between iodine and high cortisol problems? Thanks,Ronda

do you really think you have high cortisol? those are all symptoms

of low cortisol, actually ones that I had b4 I started

hydrocortisone. actually my adrenal saliva test showed high

cortisol at 4 different times, but I got instant relief from HC 5mg

4X a day. also I take 100mg Iodoral a day.
