Guest guest
Sorry, forgot to add that I took systemic enzymes also. Have you had your hormones checked? Progesterone deficiency is one of the major causes of fibroids. Lupron will further mess up your hormone levels. I had a severe case of adenomyosis and ended up anemic also. Really nasty symptoms, was told my only path to recover was a hyst. I did a little research because my doc wanted to take out my ovaries too, (since I was over 40) and discovered a wealth of information about synthetic and bio-id hormones which lead to further research regarding my problem. Long story short, cancelled the hysterectomy, found a doctor who was knowledgeable about bio-id hormones, starting supplementing progesterone which I was very low in, Armour and iodine and within a couple of months, my problems were gone. We purchase grassfed meat and lamb from local sources, host an organic vegetable CSA, and eat very well.I am hoping for some advice. I had been following the uterine fibroid threads on this group.I am 45 and in perimenopause. I have been diagnosed with an aborted submucosal myoma in addition to a normal fibroid. I was/am anemic due to this. I have had one shot of lupron to stop my period and will be having another shot next week so my body can rebuild the iron store and blood. I am taking iron, vitamins b-6/12 and folate, multivitamin, and drinking molasses. Right now, my uterus is enlarged due to the myoma. The myoma is also occupying a good amount of the free space in the uterus. We have 2 teenage children (normal vaginal no drugs during labor births). Because of the size of the myoma, and possibility that the other fibroid could rupture, my ob has recommended removal of the uterus only. Has anyone had experience with this? Is there anything I could do to reduce the size of the myoma in order to have it removed and save the uterus. I am leaning toward the removal because I can't bleed the way I have been lately. Feel free to e-mail me off topic. Thank you,

Guest guest
Hi , I have never heard the term 'aborted' submucosal fibroid. Submucosal means it is located within the uterine wall. http://www.myomectomy.net/types_of_uterine_fibroids.htm I assume you have had ultrasounds to diagnose these fibroids. What size are they? Can you further explain the 'aborted' description of the submucosal fibroid? From the myomectomy website, you can see that you can have differing levels of surgeries to remove the fibroids without taking the uterus. From my experience and reading, I do not see that fibroids usually rupture. Cysts rupture. Ablation is also a procedure you could use to stem the bleeding without removal of uterus. I would probably look for a 2nd opinion by someone who specializes in myomectomies. I used Young Living's Lavender Essential Oil to help reduce my 12 fibroids to 2. Mine were intramural and not interfering with the uterine lining and not causing heavy bleeding. (visit my website at www.youngliving.com/dropbydrop). Cheryl > I am 45 and in perimenopause. Guest guest
This will be my only post on this topic as it's OT but wanted to put the word out there as this is the most common unwarranted surgery (after C-section). A hysterectomy (with or without ovary removal) is permanently damaging and will cause many problems. I urge you to go to www.hersfoundation.com to learn about the effects of this surgery. There is also information about the risks and benefits of alternative treatments including Lupron. HERS will provide information via phone consultation or email. Just go to the Contact link on their home page. The failure of doctors to provide women with Informed Consent for Hysterectomy has prompted two in Congress (Rep. Bruce Borders of IN and Rep. Carolyn Maloney of NY) to pursue legislation that will provide women with a Female Anatomy DVD before signing a hysterectomy consent form.
