Guest guest
are you taking copper to balance the zinc? From: <angelalee0511@...>Subject: How much Magnesium is safe?iodine Date: Tuesday, 23 March, 2010, 17:33 As I increase my iodine (75mg now), I am noticing irregularity comingback. I didn't attribute this to the iodine, but I went back throughsome old posts and see that I'm not the only one.I have been able to reduce my NT by 1 1/2 grains since starting HC amonth ago. It also seems to be helping me tolerate more iodine. Icannot take more than 1 grain of NT now without getting a racing heart. Not palps - racing heart all day. My FT3 numbers 2 weeks ago went to408 from 277. They've never been that high, so I know the HC is helpingthe thyroid meds work better. But I am definitely hyper on more than 1grain. Then factor in more iodine that I had not previously been ableto tolerate.I am currently taking 600 - 800 mg of Magnesium Citrate. I had testsrun recently that showed elevated cellular calcium (blood levels normal)and below normal zinc, potassium, phosphorous and magnesium - allcellular levels. Serum magnesium was normal. I realize mag is hard totest. I am awaiting results on ionized calcium to rule out a tumor onmy parathyroid gland. PTH was 23.I am taking 30mg of zinc daily too. How much magnesium can I safelytake? I don't want to upset the balance of other nutrients by takingtoo much. I had to take more than normal already, because I have acorkscrew colon, so I was already having issues not related to thyroid. Surgery is not an option to fix this. But now I can't take calcium tobalance it, so I'm hesitant to increase it more.If I don't get things moving, I'm afraid I'll have to back off my doseof iodine again. I don't want all those toxins floating around in myintestines.I am taking all the supporting nutrients including 4000mg of vitamin C.Thanks for any help. Guest guest
I've read in some places 5 mg per kg of body weight and in some places it says 10 mg per kg of body weight. Take your body weight divide by 2.2 and you'll have the kg weight, multiply 5 and 10, and I reckon somewhere in between those two numbers would be good. Guest guest
I would think we need more than that then as the protocol seems to cause a higher magnesium need, but it sounds like it is a good place to star. If the 10 mg per kg was the minimum that comes out to 700 mg for me, which I am at around 600 right now and still think I am not at a high enough dose yet. 15 mg per kg would be 1050 mg for me which would still be lower than Dr. Abrahams 1200 mg. That’s with me be a short and still much too round person LOL so it would lower as I lost weight. Seems reasonable then as a good range to say 10-15 mg per kg since I imagine Dr. Abraham must have more weight than me even with my round status LOL That 1200 mg number may be real close to 15 mg per kg for him. Guest guest
I wonder how you are dosing the HC? 5mg 4X a day is the usual dosing. also you should be taking 50 mg of zinc. I take 100mg Iodoral. Gracia wrote: > > As I increase my iodine (75mg now), I am noticing irregularity coming > back.
