Guest guest
Will iodine help alleviate candida? My dog has it pretty bad (ears, mainly) and I've started him on 6.25mg (he's 75lbs). Any evidence that iodine can help that issue? thanks!

Still, it seems to me that sometimes, even to often, many plays with fire by taking so much massive dose of lugol. Advising to take 200mg/day is'nt it king of excessive when usually 175mg/day X 10 days is the usual dose for thyroidectomy. Even the Iodine Doctor usually don't even go up 100mg/day for patient with such deasesa as cancer ??? http://tinyurl.com/yabahbv Poff > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Will iodine help alleviate candida? Guest guest
Hi , It can help, I'm sure, as long as the maintaining cause is eliminated. If you feed "dog food", it is loaded with inappropraite "food" for carnivores. Grains and sugars cause the candida. I feed a species appropriate diet of raw meaty bones, muscle meat and organs and eggs to my dog. Stopping any vaccinations is also important, as they suppress the immune system. Lots of info on the rawfeeding list. If you would like more info, feel free to write offlist. Good luck!Nonie > Subject: Candida and iodine> > Will iodine help alleviate candida? Guest guest
Nonie, thanks so much for the reply! I feed my dogs Evo dry and canned; no grain. They have to get rabies shots every year because we're foster parents and its one of their many inane rules. When you say offlist, do you mean the OT board? If so, I'd love to have more info on the raw diet. I would really like to figure out a good raw diet for my dogs that doesn't break the bank or cause me brain damage > > > Hi , > > > > It can help, I'm sure, as long as the maintaining cause is eliminated. Guest guest
hi this group is learning how to use iodine effectively. I have taken 100mg Iodoral for 2 years now and don't want to go off of it. meanwhile my friend's ND told her to go off of Iodoral after 3 months and she did. I think it was a big mistake. Guest guest
No. There is not one nutrient that will get rid of candida. One needs a very comprehensive diet low in sugars, carbs, etc. Kathleen candida and iodine> > > > My doctor suspects that I have candida and I wanted to know if iodine worked for candida.> > Thank you,> > >
Guest guest
I would suggest a liver cleanse, taking probiotics and cleaning up the diet. It takes time to clean up candida. There are many diets that are out there to clean up candida. Getting good gut flora is important. Guest guest
Hi , If you google 'candida and diet', you will come up with much good information. There are also some very informative books on healing candida. I would go to Amazon and put in that subject and see what you find. Here are a few I like: http://www.amazon.com/Missing-Diagnosis-C-Orian-Truss/dp/0961575808/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=home-garden & ie=UTF8 & qid=1317832293 & sr=1-1-catcorr http://www.amazon.com/Yeast-Connection-Medical-Breakthrough/dp/0394747003/ref=sr_1_cc_3?s=home-garden & ie=UTF8 & qid=1317832293 & sr=1-3-catcorr http://www.amazon.com/Candida-Cure-Program-Restore-Vibrant/dp/0977344614/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & qid=1317832546 & sr=8-1 And as I said in my first response. Check out www.knowthecause.com . Iodine daily with the companion nutrients will be very helpful in your quest to get candida under control. Guest guest
I respectively disagree. I have found out about GSE (GRAPEFRUIT SEED EXTRACT) from my brother who is a naturopath that GSE does cure candida and studies prove it. You can get it from www.vitacost.com in a tablet form. I have used it from acne, to sore throats to fungal infections with 100% success. Search the internet for GSE and Candida. Here is one link: http://www.fungusfocus.com/html/grapefruit_seed_extract_info.htm Kathy T. Guest guest
Hi Kathy, Yes, of course there are some good supplements that will kill candida. But that is not the point. Candida is a naturally occurring yeast in the body. If one's diet is not changed to one low in sugars and empty calorie carbohydrates such as breads, cakes, cookies, pasta's etc., the candida will just become out of control again. Even when patients take olive leaf extract, oregano oil, and other supplements that kill yeasts, they have to be rotated as the candida/yeasts are very 'smart' and can adapt; so again, diet is key. Grapefruit seed extract is a good material, but in my humble opinion, not the only answer to overcoming candida. Guest guest
A week of Diflucan did nothing to kill my Candida, much to the amazement of my FNP. “You can’t still have it” she said. Googled Candida diet and cut out breads, sugars, yeast, fungus food (like mushrooms), fruit, alcohol etc. Doing much better. Caprylic acid and Pau de Arco really helped me. I have the GSE just in case I need it too. I also had to go back on thyroid meds as my level had dropped so much. Carol PS It does take time. Oh and I dropped eight pounds without even trying. Always welcome.
Guest guest
Carol, thank you for posting your experience. This is what I was talking about. the diet you followed is very important! Are you taking iodine and the companion nutrients as well? Keep up the good work! Kathleen Re: Candida and iodine A week of Diflucan did nothing to kill my Candida, much to the amazement of my FNP.
