Guest guest
Hi, I am new to this group. I was wondering if I could get some feedback on my test. It was done through Dr. Flechas office. Results were: I & I Loading 38 L >44 mg/24hr I & I Saturation 76 L >90 % total L=Low H=High Bromide (spot) 13.6 H <12 mg/L Post Provocation 45.26 H <12 mg/24hr I actually thought the number for saturation would be lower-I am almost certain I am very deficient especially as I have only been consuming sea salt for the past couple of years. Does this mean I have a possible symporter problem? Also, I read at the below website and have heard elsewhere that it is not good to take high doses of niacin if you have methylation problems (I understand this is recommended for the symporter problem). http://www.enzymestuff.com/methylation.htm " According to Pfeiffer, " Actually excess niacin (B3) is metabolized by methylation and thus uses up methyl groups " . So if you are an over-methylator, meaning you have extra, then B3 is good because it uses them up, but if you are an under methylator, meaning deficient, then giving extra B3 is bad because it drains an already poor supply. " I believe I fall into under methylator group. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Diane
