Guest guest
I go to Pub Med and print off the abstracts of a couple of related articles, highlighting the relevant sections, the "legitimate" and "respectable" organization conducting the research. If there is a specific article, document, or website page I want to bring to the doctor's attention, I print it off and have it with me so I can show him what I am looking at. If necessary, I print off a list of related websites the doctor can check out at their convenience. Some doctors are never going to read or listen or consider. Others, I've had good success with. If they do not, I do not return. Most recently I did this with a new dentist and I made it clear that I do not return if they are not willing to grow and learn and stay current. On my next visit he had clearly read and understood the articles, was able to address my questions, and best, had some questions of his own that he is working on researching. Whew! I am hoping he works out well....
