Guest guest
I am going to use the coconut oil in my salad and mix coconut oil with iodine and apply to my breast tissue. Is organic virgin one the best form to use? Does it easily turn to rancid? Thanks, Jen
Guest guest
Hello, Virgin coconut oil is one of the least likely oils to become rancid. I ONLY use virgin coconut oil and some olive oil. I use only the coconut oil for cooking as most oils do turn rancid during the heating process. Please do not put the coconut oil in your microwave to liquefy it and note that if your salad is cold, the coconut oil will harden up. It won't hurt you if it is hard, but you may notice it. I even make my homemade Italian sauce with coconut oil, and sometimes will finish a dish with olive oil after it comes off of the heat. No one notices the difference! Coconut oil is wonderful on the skin. > > I am going to use the coconut oil in my salad and mix coconut oil with iodine and apply to my breast tissue. Is organic virgin one the best form to use? Guest guest
Jen, I keep my coconut oil in the fridge during the summer time and on the counter in winter, I have never had it go rancid, but as with most oils, we would be able to tell by the smell. Kathleen Virgin coconut oil turns to rancid? I am going to use the coconut oil in my salad and mix coconut oil with iodine and apply to my breast tissue. Is organic virgin one the best form to use? Does it easily turn to rancid? Thanks,Jen

Guest guest
I split my first gallon of VCO into two jars, one to sit on my kitchen counter, one to go in my bathroom for hair and skin use. I always used a clean spoon to get oil out of the kitchen jar, but I'd just use my fingers in the other jar. The jar in the bathroom was rancid within a month, likely from the bacteria that didn't wash off of my hands, while the kitchen oil remained fresh smelling. Guest guest
I live in New Orleans and keep my coconut oil in the kitchen cupboard and the room is not air conditioned. Coconut oil is extremely resistant to rancidity and does not require refrigeration unlike many other oils. --V At 12:11 PM 10/16/2010, you wrote: >Jen, > I keep my coconut oil in the fridge during the summer time and on the > counter in winter, I have never had it go rancid, but as with most oils, > we would be able to tell by the smell.
