Guest guest
Hi all, I, too, am very invested in knowing the answers to the T3-Iodine relationship, because I take both and have both Hashi's and breast nodules. I haven't read all messages in this thread, but I'll add the one thing new that I know. Khalid Mahmud, one of the anti-aging docs who's also an oncologist, writes of the MANY breast-cancer protective properties of T3 in a chapter in his book called " Keeping aBreast: Preventing Breast Cancer " . My FNP has heard him speak many times, has years of experience in Bio-Identicals, and she trusts what he says. Guest guest
Synthetic thyroid meds have been around since the 1950's and if I am recalling correctly, in high gear in the 60's to replace NTH. I've been doing both for three years. I had a bad mammogram several years ago in the States and was told to get another one within six months as a follow-up. I took the risk of dosing myself following the Iodine protocol (all of it) and went up to 100 mg of Iodoral for three months and my next mammogram, which I waited 18 months to get and had done in France, was totally clear. I actually went to the American Hospital in Neuilly to make sure that the same up-to-date equipment was used and that the radiologist was used to reading X-rays from other countries, including the States. The radiologist was totally surprised by the difference. He asked what I'd been doing; when I told him, he shrugged. My thoughts on the correlation between thyroid hormone and breast cancer: Since the 1980s when synthetics started to become the norm for thyroid treatment, women have been poorly treated with T4 drugs, and those who were able to get NDT, mostly have been kept underdosed. Add those two facts to the fact that we've not been getting as much iodine in our foods (no longer used in bread stuffs, less in the soils, less in fish), nor do we get enough of the other needed elements (selenium, natural salt, vitamin C & D). It's no wonder that breast cancer is on the rise. However, I think it is due to deficiencies and mistreatments. Comments? Guest guest
The TSH test came in the 60's as well.
