Guest guest
What is going on when I add liquid potassium iodide (KI) to liquid ascorbic acid (AA)? Normally when I add KI to water, it turns brown. When I add it to water with 2gm of dissolved AA, it remains clear. Is the KI reacting with the AA to make potassium ascorbate and free iodine? Are there any restrictions on mixing/taking KI?
