11 year old with goiter AFTER starting iodine?

Please tell me I didn't do this to my child!

My 11 year old has some inattentive issues and was treated briefly with meds

(Concerta) which didn't work for her. After reading Dr.Brownstein's book (I have

Hashimoto's as does my mother) I thought iodine might be helpful for her. Now

she has developed a goiter and her TSH is greater than 150!!! Her antibodies are

through the roof as well. Did the iodine do this? I feel so guilty that

something I gave her may have triggered this. Is it just a coincidence or could

the iodine have exacerbated the Hashimoto's that was already present? Thanks for

your help.
