Guest guest
thanks, so no links to iodine and sleep apnea? or do you mean low iodine can be linked to all of these things? > > There are links to weight and low thyroid and sleep apnea. > > Steph > >
Guest guest
Hello Sleep apnea usually gets worse with the iodine protocol, I have found, having to do with temporary swelling of the throat structures associated with the thyroid. The thyroid begins its development at the base of the tongue and will retain that connection through life. It only moves down to the throat where we know it to be about the 7th mo of gestation. So, a common effect and manifestation of hypothyroidism is throat related swellings and laxities of many kinds, including sleep apnea and snoring. As time goes on with the iodine protocol, especially at higher doses, that will resolve nicely and snoring is eliminated pretty much. Losing weight helps too. Guest guest
My husband was just diagnosed with sleep apnea. His snoring used to be loud enough to be heard thru wall at other end of house. He takes 3 MSM and that cuts his snoring to doesn't bother me level by reducing the swelling and also his shoulders don't ache. He is getting fitted for some mouth device in a few weeks where our cost will be 100 and rest picked up by insurance and no C-PAP machine. Has anyone tried the mouth device. I think he heard of it on sports radio and PAT is in name. He also takes fish oil which cut his cholesterol from needs RX to nearly normal again in 4-6 months. He wasn't excited to take statin drugs so glad that worked out.Does iodine make the snoring go away for good??? I would work on him on taking iodine if that were true.... It was moving a mountain to get him to take MSM and fish oil but once the mountain is moved he will continue on forever.... Men are quite different creatures. I wish I could solve my health issues with MSM and fish oil. Guest guest
You might the answer in these articles. It could be a dental issue. http://www.holistichealthsource.com/Articles.htm I have several articles. I hope these cover it. The dental issue could cause adrenal fatigue and putuitary problems. Guest guest
Hello Pam. So far with the few who I have worked with on the snoring and iodine, this is just one of the manifestations that came and went, never to return with the iodine protocol...the others were eye twitches and restless legs. Guest guest
Thanks, I couldn't figure out the link between dental issues and sleep apnea though? Do you mean because of the layout of the teeth or mouth or something? or are you linking it to mercury poisoning? The consultant dr i saw said that the back of my mouth was 'crowded' with not much space - ie a small amount of space at the back and probably a smaller throat etc, probably not helped by being overweight. Thanks Chris > > You might the answer in these articles. It could be a dental issue. > > http://www.holistichealthsource.com/Articles.htm > > I have several articles. I hope these cover it. Guest guest
Hi Pamela I tried one of those mouth devices and it didn't help me - i couldn't tolerate it, the gag reflex was so strong in me that it was intolerable. That is very interesting that MSM helps him - do you know why it'd help exactly? You mention about reducing swelling? High cholesterol and sleep apnea are linked to hypothyroid, has he been checked for this? >Men are quite different creatures. I wish I could solve my > health issues with MSM and fish oil. I am male too, I wish I could solve my problems with MSM too, i will try it tho just in case. Thanks Chris > > My husband was just diagnosed with sleep apnea. Guest guest
Hi Linsey Thanks for your reply, that is interesting what you say. The surgeon I saw said there was a significant collapse of tissue at the top of my throat. Is this where the thyroid begins too then? > > Hello > > Sleep apnea usually gets worse with the iodine protocol, I have found, having to do with temporary swelling of the throat structures associated with the thyroid. Guest guest
This article explains what happens when the bones don't grow to their full potential. Bones stay small but the soft tissue is normal. I'm thinking this is getting too OT, but here is the link. http://www.westonaprice.org/Is-it-Mental-or-is-it-Dental.html The articles in the previous link explain how ALF can fix the problem. ALF, Cranial Osteopathy, and Overall Health talks about how ones dental issues can make the kidneys hypermobile and cause adrenal fatigue. http://www.holistichealthsource.com/Articles/CranialManipulation.pdf You can write me off list if you need more answers or go to the OT list. This information is as exciting for me as iodine. It has the same amount of impact on our bodies and could easily be interrelated. Joan > > > > You might the answer in these articles.
