Guest guest
Hi , How much iodine are you taking? Are you taking the companion nutrients? feeling sleepy/tired can be a detox symptom. Kathleen Iodine making me sleepy I started taking iodine and it makes me tired. Does this mean my thyroid has been down-regulating because of weak adrenals and the boost in iodine is up-regulating my thyroid which is putting stress on my adrenals? If not, what else could cause iodine to make me tired?-
Guest guest
I had been taking 650mcg iodine in a kelp pill for months--didn't make me tired (I know it's low dose of iodine). Last week I started taking 3-6mg of liquid potassium iodine in water and that's when I started feeling tired. I have been on high doe vitamin C for months (4-6g/day). I always eat plenty of salt, but have not been taking extra salt. I take a cal-mag-zinc supplement consisting of 2g cal, 1g mag and 120mg zinc (spaced out 3x day). I also take 400 IU of vitamin E and 100mcg of K2. And a tablespoon of high vitamin cod liver oil. Thanks for the quick response. - > > Hi , How much iodine are you taking? Guest guest
It is more than likely making you detox and that can cause fatigue. Are you taking the companion nutrients? They are outlined in the new members document in the files. Steph Iodine making me sleepy I started taking iodine and it makes me tired. Guest guest
you will feel better on at least 50mg Iodoral or Lugols. gracia On 10/21/2010 1:20 AM, paulsonntagericson wrote: I had been taking 650mcg iodine in a kelp pill for months--didn't make me tired (I know it's low dose of iodine). Guest guest
I would think that if 6mg makes me tired, 50mg would make me even more so. Or is that not correct? > > > > I had been taking 650mcg iodine in a kelp pill for months--didn't make > > me tired (I know it's low dose of iodine). Guest guest
Not necessarily. It's kind of odd that way. Guest guest
It's not correct. It turns out that once the body has enough iodine to get its work done, the process is easier. It happens over and over again that people report feeling much better on high doses than lower, and Gracia is one of them. That's why she tends to notice it when people report feeling bad on low doses. 3-6mg is still a low dose, one that will never saturate the body with iodine and allow transformation of the toxic state. The reason it can't is because the body needs at least that much every day just for normal functioning, which it never gets anyway. But the body uses whatever iodine it does get for metabolism and organ functioning first, and only when the body has enough beyond that will the iodine start taking out toxins (protecting the cells and thus overall health) in a major way. I'm not articulating it very well why that translates into feeling better at higher doses, but maybe someone else can help with that. -- At 09:30 AM 10/21/2010, you wrote: >I would think that if 6mg makes me tired, 50mg would make me even more so. >Or is that not correct? > > > > > > > > I had been taking 650mcg iodine in a kelp pill for months--didn't make > > > me tired (I know it's low dose of iodine). Guest guest
I reviewed the companion nutrients again and perhaps the iodine is making me iron deficient which commonly appears as tiredness. Looks like I may need a B complex and selenium too, but I've been taking everything else for quite some time before starting iodine. I'll try a higher dose of iodine once I get the missing above nutrients. For iodine, right now all I can get is " Liquid Iodine " from Tropic of Canada. I called and asked about it and they said its potassium iodide, extracted from kelp in a base of glycerin. I confirmed that it is not a concentrated kelp, so it sounds like it's just potassium iodide. It's not very concentrated though at 6.25mg per ml. Thanks for all the attention. - > > Hi , How much iodine are you taking? Are you taking the companion nutrients? feeling sleepy/tired can be a detox symptom. Guest guest
I think you explained it well! I felt better on 50mg than 12.5mg and also felt better on 100mg than 50mg. Guest guest
-- Your body needs both kinds of iodine, the potassium iodide and the regular iodine. Here is a link for the best price on Lugol's (they ship worldwide), I've been using this product and it's quite the same as more expensive stuff. The same seller also sells the ingredients to make one's own Lugol's, which I did buy but haven't yet made-- almost empty the Lugol's bottle and then I'll be forced to make my own for the first time. The selenium makes a huge difference. Iodine gives me a lot of energy, and I'm sure it will for you as well once you get things sorted out. http://cgi.ebay.com/Lugols-solution-4-fl-oz-2-2-iodine-/320494213873?pt=LH_Defau\ ltDomain_0 & hash=item4a9ef19af1 -- At 10:10 AM 10/21/2010, you wrote: >I reviewed the companion nutrients again and perhaps the iodine is making >me iron deficient which commonly appears as tiredness. Guest guest
I have a theory, and please correct me if you think this is out of line, moderators. When I spoke with Dr. Flechas, due to my extremely high urine bromide count (123.11) he said to salt load ONLY for 7 days, to detox the bromide. I tell you what, it was like someone had given me a sedative, I was sooooo tired. Later, I found out that bromide has a sedative effect, that's why they used to give it to people in the hospital and sanitariums! I hypothesize when the body detoxes bromide, it will cause that "sedative" effect as it's circulating and subsequently leaving your body, which is actually a good thing, ultimately. Guest guest
It makes sense. We are all be lulled into oblivion with these toxic halides. Fluoride does the same thing. Guest guest
Yes, fluoride is known to make people less alive feeling, sedated into oblivion-- that's part of why it's such a crime that the populace is being massively dosed with it in the water. It's so wrong that people are being mass dosed with a " medicine " with no controls or dosages. Anyway I digress. I think your theory has a lot of merit, . -- At 06:07 PM 10/21/2010, you wrote: > > >It makes sense. We are all be lulled into oblivion with these toxic >halides. Guest guest
That’s very interesting, . Gerson patients get that same loggy, sleepy, tired feeling while on the therapy; as toxins are released so fast, that’s where the coffee enemas come in to help the liver keep up with the toxic load.
