Iodine and high puls

Hi,

perhaps someone here has some hints and recommendations that could help me, or

could benefit from my experiences so far.

Since I'm new here, let me describe my situation in a few words. A couple of

years ago, I got severe neurological attacks and MS symptoms  (no MS) after

eating a lot of sea fish. Taking iodine suddenly became a big problem for me,

even a grain of sea salt caused neurological problems.

I decided to have a part of my thyroid surgically removed, since my doctor had

recommended this already during the past years, independently of my new problem.

The thyroid operation did not help. Even with large amounts of T3 and T4, I

suffered from the typical CFS / POTS symptoms, without knowing any reason or a

having a clear diagnosis. 2 years later, in the year 2010, I got a CFS diagnosis

from a specialist. During the last months I needed to stay in bed (i.e. in

horizontal position) most of the time.

Paradoxically, I found out that taking large amounts of sea salt now allowed me

almost normal activity. But I could not continue with taking that much sea salt

since I got intestine problems from it.

My conclusiong was that perhaps the iodine in the sea salt was responsable for

the amelioration and I tried to the take Lugol iodine solution. Appearently this

was too much since my pulse got extremely high (heart racing). Very recently I'm

now experimenting with smaller amounts of iodine (eg 50 mcg a day).

My hythesis at the moment is that the fish I ate contained too much bromine that

my body could not eliminate over time.

The main problem at the moment is that I get a quite high puls (eg 140) as soon

as I'm walking s short distance, or even standing up, combined with continously

low blood pressure (eg 100/60). My heart itself has no anomalies.  I now started

to take a Midodrine medicament that increases the blood pressure without

increasing the puls. This seems to help to a certain degree.

My question is: Do you have any experience with these symptoms, especially in

the iodine/bromine/thyroid hormons context?

Thanks and regards,

a
