Prize distribution function on Condom Joke Contest "

Dear Sir,

Greetings from ICWO. We are a non-governmental organization working for

HIV/AIDS prevention among commercial like sex workers, Tourist and MSM in

chennai., for the last six years. Condoms play a very important role in

preventing the spread of STDs & HIV. Despite its wide availability and

publicity condoms have not become very popular due to the stigma attached to

the product. APAC & ICWO have undertaken an innovative venture to break the

stigma and in this regard introduced the " condom joke contest " . The contest,

which encourages people to write jokes they know on condoms, was introduced

in 250 shops at Chennai for a period of 2 months (22 January to 21 March

2001).

The best 103 jokes were shortlisted by a team of external consultants and a

prize distribution function is planned to be conducted during the (27th May

2001). The short-listed jokes are planned to be compiled and widely

disseminated thought the Internet and other mediums. During the function, 30

lucky retailers will also be honored, for their support to the contest and

for meeting the retailer scheme conditions.

We request you to join us during the prize distribution function and grace

the occasion. The function would be organized in a hotel / auditorium and

500 participants are likely is participate. A musical event is also planned

during the function. ICWO is looking out for sponsors for meeting the cost

of the function. The areas where we are looking for sponsors are:

1. Venue and catering cost Rs. 30,000

2. Musical event Rs. 30,000

3. P.A. System, Table, Chair, Electricity,ect.Rs. 10,000

4. Sponsoring the cost of invitation, photography ,

Memontos, Banners etc Rs. 10,000

5. Communication Volunteers and Travel Rs. 10,000

and also speak about their company during the function to the participants.
