I was told by a health practitioner that used Lugols, that if when I'm trying to

sleep at night I feel wired and have a fast pulse that I need to cut my dosage

back. So I would do that if I were you, and keep cutting back until you don't

feel that way at night. Even stop for a couple days is probably a good idea.

Your body is probably saturated in iodine.

That's not good advice, imo. Just because a practitioner uses Lugol's

doesn't mean they are knowledgeable about the cutting edge info we have

here on this list. I saw an Integrated Medicine MD and she was still

terrified of iodine even though she prescribed it.

If you're wired at night, only take your iodine in the morning. The wired

feeling is because your body is finally getting what it needs to power its

engine, the thyroid. A person WANTS and NEEDS that energy. Don't lower

your dose, just take it first thing in the morning. YOur body will adjust

and start utilizing the energy properly.

Do some other sleep protocols for a while to get through your body's

adjustment period. A warm (not too hot) cup of chamomile tea (steep 20

minutes) a few minutes before bed, 3 to 9mg of melatonin, a 1/2 cup of

yogurt, a warm (not too hot) bath with 2 cups of epsom salts are all things

to try, or a combination of them (and there are others).

best wishes,

I just add it to my water. Seems to work for me. I add the salt and the C to my water bottles in the morning most days. PamOn Sun, Jan 30, 2011 at 11:23 AM, <r_long@...> wrote:

Pam, That sounds like a good plan to me. I will be more diligent with the salt. The Vit C is second nature: 5 grams spread over my waking hours.
