Guest guest
Do you feel well on that dose? Bromide exposure is another thing to think about. If you are feeling well at that dose and your exposure to other sources of bromide and fluoride are low then I would think 50 mg would be ok. Make sure you take in plenty of magnesium. Engtovo From: Lynnette Sent: Wednesday, March 10, 2010 1:01 PM iodine Subject: Tea and Iodine Hi,I am taking 50mg Iodoral, and am thyroidless. My question to the group is whether I am taking enough iodine to offset the fluoride in the brewed tea that I drink. We are on well water and the tea is the only source of fluoride I get. I love tea, and hate the thought of having to give it up. Any insight will be appreciated.LynnetteWelch MN
Guest guest
The subject of fluoride in tea comes up on the kombucha list periodically, and I thought there was some information out there that the form of fluoride in tea is not the same as the fluoride put in water etc. Does anyone know anything about this? -- At 07:35 PM 3/10/2010, you wrote: >Do you feel well on that dose? Guest guest
From everything I could find, it is the same, and green tea is generally higher than black tea, and it depends on where it is grown, because it is absorbed from the soil. I found some Japanese macha powder that is fluoride free on Mercola's web site, and some Body Ecology fluoride free tea 'drops', and that is the only tea I drink now. I would take an occasional cup of black tea if I was somewhere and that was all they had, now that I am feeling somewhat better and taking iodine, but it is not great. I also have quit caffeine, for adrenal support, so it does not come up as much, but my tea drops are caffeine free too. Beth in MN > > > >Do you feel well on that dose? Guest guest
I seem to recall reading a long time ago that the fluoride they put in the water is a waste by-product of the nuclear energy plants. Could be wrong. But if it's true, then I would guess that the fluoride naturally occurring in the soil which the tea plant intakes is different than that put in the water. Just a guess. Guest guest
I would sure like to find out that the fluoride in tea is not a problem . I was drinking a lot of green tea but hearing about the fluoride I've stopped completely. What I remember hearing about why fluoride got pushed into our water supplies is that it is a toxic waste of the aluminum industry that they have to pay a lot to dispose of. That was until some clever promoter concocted a bunch of nonsense about it being good for us so now they can SELL it to our municipal water supplies and dentists. jean Tea and Iodine> >> >> >> >Hi,> >> >I am taking 50mg Iodoral, and am thyroidless. Guest guest
No matter what the source of the fluoride it will be competing with iodine in the body. Guest guest
Thanks for all the replies! We live in the woods on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi, away from farms and other pollution. We drink well-filtered well water, and brew black teas with distilled water. I make our dental cleanser, so no fluoride there. No carpet. The only bread I buy is sprouted grain bread from Foods for Life, and we eat very little of that. I do take magnesium and selenium, and feel good on 50mg Iodoral. I have been on that dose for a long time. Lynnette > > Do you feel well on that dose? Bromide exposure is another thing to think about.
