Guest guest
It also says they alternated that 3 gm Vit C with the Iodine every other day. One day vit C, the next day Iodine. No conflict. Guest guest
Doesn't that imply a conflict, otherwise they could be taken together? Guest guest
Yes, it implies conflict, and how to avoid the conflict, that's why they did the vitamin C and Iodine on alternating days. There is no conflict if it's done that way. LOL I think I was replying to someone wanting to know about taking Vit C and Iodine together, LMAO, but I've read so many emails since then I don't remember the post I was responding to. Guest guest
Well the problem to start with is to question the source. I can't get the link to the source to work so I have no idea what it is or whether to trust it. However, Steph's husband takes his Vit C along with his Iodoral every day and as she has related, he overcame his Hashi's after a year on the protocol. So I think Dr. Brownstein's advice is the one to trust, ergo, take the Vit C every day in divided doses and take the iodine every day as well. -- >Yes, it implies conflict, and how to avoid the >conflict, that's why they did the vitamin C and >Iodine on alternating days. Guest guest
Well if you look in the ebook that I gave the link to, and that is in the list files, I believe it was Dr Brownstein that did the Vit C every other day. I don't care how people take it really *shrug*, I'm not trying to tell anyone how they should or shouldn't be taking vitamin C. I just replied with what I read in that ebook, and having info from people that know about chemical reactions. Someone asked and I replied with what I know. How anyone takes their Vit C, and when, is up to them. Guest guest
There's a part in the book; # 10 on page 40, that talks about a case report by Dr. Brownstein and Dr. Abraham about a woman who responded to 3gm of vitamin C alternated with Iodine every other day. I didn't say Dr Brownstein recommended it. Like I said, it was just an observation about what is in the book, not a suggestion about how anyone should, or shouldn't, take Vit C. Guest guest
Yeah, the one I posted the link to a few days ago, that's in the list files. Heck, I just had the file open. Hold on a second, I'll find the name. " Iodine Remedies Secrets From the Sea " . It's got a strange kind of layout. On page 40, # 10 is what the paragraph is labeled in the PDF I have. Guest guest
I took that as meaning 3 mg of vit C daily for three months. With iodine taken on alternate days. Vit C daily and iodine every other day. ~ > > Book #10? >
Guest guest
Try to mix some Vitamin C with Lugol, You'll see by yourself the reaction. Vit C is a powerfull oxydant. It turns Iodine into Iodide. As our body need both iodine and iodide, It is preferable to take Vitamin C some time after the ingestion of Lugol to avoid that reaction. It is a simple and know reacton in chemistry. I read the same observation from I don't remember exactly Who it was, Dr Browstein? Dr ? Dr Guy Abraham? or Walter Last? http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/chem00/chem00880.htm > > > > Book #10? > > > > > >
Guest guest
In Secret of the Sea you can read too " If Iodine in Lugol's or another liquid is reduces to iodide, the yellow color of iodine will disappear becaude iodide is white. " This is the reaction a was taking to you about. The Why it is maybe not advise to take Lugol and Vitamin C at the SAME time if you don't want to see your Lugol( iodine and Iodide) end up only into an iodide solution http://tinyurl.com/nsquvd > > > > Book #10? > > > > > >
Guest guest
I have seen the reaction here at home in a glass of water, but my question was and is, how do we know that's what happens in the stomach, with the acids and etc? Because I agree with Steph that if we still lived in a world in which it was possible to get our nutrients from our diet, it would all be mixed up in our stomachs. So this is why I wonder so much about all the instructions for separation. And, I worry that we make it so difficult to comply with the protocol that it paralyzes people and they can't participate. my thoughts. -- >Try to mix some Vitamin C with Lugol, You'll see by yourself the reaction. >Vit C is a powerfull oxydant. Guest guest
But the body is a far more complex thing than the mixing of two substances. Lots of things that happen in the lab cannot be repeated in the human body and vice versa. So what it always comes down to is what works for each one of us. We need both iodine and vitamin C to avoid either would be dangerous to our health. Perhaps taking them at different times would be ideal but we have absolutely no evidence to that effect in the human body itself, people who take them together and separately are both having success with the protocol.
